Kyncl, Günter ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Šidlichovský, Pavel (referee)
G. Kyncl 2022 Analysis of terrain skeleton lines in rocky terrain: comparison of information based on ZM 10 and DMR 5G Abstract This thesis deals with analysis of terrain skeleton lines in rocky terrain based on cartographic representations of rock formations in Czech state map series. The main aim of the work is to determine how much the representations of rock formations correspond to reality. In the theoretical part the method of rock drawing used in the Czech state map series is described. Then the procedure which was used to derive the terrain skeleton lines from rock formations representations is described. This procedure was for the purpose mentioned above used in author's bachelor thesis. In the next chapter selected methods used for the detection of terrain skeleton lines in digital terrain models are briefly described. Then one of the described methods is chosen and used with modifications in the practical part of this paper. The next section deals with selected methods from the field of digital image processing and computational geometry. The last part is focused on the description of selected methods used to determine the degree of correspondence of linear objects. In the beginning of the practical part the data used in this work are described. The main part of the thesis is focused on...
Analysis of Generalization Methods of Land Use/Land Cover Objects on Czech State Map Series
Klesík, Dávid ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Skalická, Iveta (referee)
This master thesis focuses on the detailed analysis of the present manual generalization of LU/LC objects from ZABAGED data to a scale of 1 : 50 000, to propose options for its future automatization based on ArcGIS software tools. Analyses of generalization methods are carried out on the data of the entire Czech Republic, by spatially comparing topologically correct objects of different scales and examining their characteristics. These analyses are therefore built on the principle of reverse engineering, when based on known inputs (original ZABAGED data) and outputs (manually generalized Data50 data), other inputs are derived in the form of criteria values used in the current practice. This is approached in such a way that by applying these detected values in the parameters of the ArcGIS functions, results comparable to the current generalized data are achieved. The Python programming language with the ArcPy library is used to perform the analyses. The derived values of current practice are described in detail and presented in tables, while their possibility and way of application in the future process of automatic generalization is determined. These results are also confronted with the Technical procedure for the creation of ZM 50. Based on this, the shortcomings of this manual and the derived...

Bachelor's thesis abstract G. Kyncl 2020 Utilisation of cartographic rock representation in the Czech State map series for enhancement of rock formations topographic data in ZABAGED Abstract This thesis deals with utilisation of cartographic rock representation in the Czech State map series for enhancement of rock formations topographic data in ZABAGED. The first part of the paper describes the method of rock drawing developed and used by the Czech Land Survey Office on their base maps. In the next part some methods of computational ceometry which are used in this paper briefly described. Next part is devoted to description of used data on rock formations provided by Czech Land Survey Office. In this part is also described the process of data preprocessing for next usage in the thesis. The main part of this paper deals with the proposal of methods for automatic obtaining the topographic information about rock formations from their cartographic representation. Proposed methods are focused on the classification of rock drawing polygon perimeter and on the identification of ridgelines, valley lines and inner edge lines. Proposed methods are tested and evaluated on provided data. Key words rock formations, rock drawing, state map series, ZABAGED
Classification of built-up areas for cartographic generalization of state map series
Matyáš, Michal ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Bayer, Tomáš (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of automatic classification of buildings. The main goal of this diploma thesis was to design an algorithm for the identification of building types for the purposes of cartographic generalization. For the purposes of this diploma thesis, a total of six types of development were defined with respect to different generalization of individual types on ZM 50. The first part of the proposed method is represented by an algorithm for segmenting buildings into clusters based on the use of already generalized road network and DBSCAN algorithm. The partial goal of this diploma thesis was to compare classifiers from the field of machine learning and neural networks and at the same time to compare classifiers using descriptive characteristics with classifiers using visual assessment. The resulting classifications were evaluated using data from a manually selected training set and using an algorithm comparing the resulting type of development with the type of cartographic representation used to represent the development on ZM 50. The whole method was implemented in Python using Arcpy, Scikit-learn and Tensorflow libraries. Testing took place on elements from the ZABAGED and Data50 databases. Keywords: Generalization of built-up areas, Classification, Machine learning,...

Lněničková, Petra ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Gamrát, Jakub (referee)
INTEGRATION OF CLIMBING DATABASES WITH THE STATE MAP SERIES Abstract This thesis is about the role of inegartion of climbing databases with the state map series and vice versa. I tis based on the web claimbing databases of rocks and state topographic databases Geonames and ZABAGED®. Thesis was created with the help of software tools Oracle SQL Developer and ArcGIS for Desktop. At first, basic terms are explained and a method for integration of data into climbing databases is described and tested. Subsequently, means for completion of coordinates from publicly available sources is described. At last, the process of using climbing data in topographic databases is designed. key words rocks, climbing, topographic database, ZABAGED®, Geonames
Keeping linear objects of cycling infrastructure in topographical databases and digital cartography.
Růžička, Jakub ; Šára, Pavel (advisor) ; Novotná, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is creating of a new methodology of keeping linear objects of cycling infrastructure in the ZABAGED® database. The methodology determines the way of keeping data in the database including attributes, attributes' description and the way of their assignment to appropriate lines. Objects of interest are marked cycling routes and special types of infrastructure which have been designed for cycling (e.g. bicycle trails, traffic lines reserved for cyclists or cycling corridors). Theoretical part is an overview of different types of cycling infrastructure including legislatively-bounding properties (width, marking) and an overview of the methodology of marking cycling routes. Furthermore, there is an overview of existing databases in which cycling infrastructure is already being kept and five of these are further characterised. The practical part comprises creating of a new data layer to evaluate the function of created methodology in covering real-life object's parameters. The created data layer can be found in attachment of this thesis together with its visualisation on a map. Included in the practical part there also is a description of possible problems which occurred during vectorisation and possible solutions or precautions on how to prevent them.
Topographic mapping of rock formations with the use of airborne laser scanning data
Lysák, Jakub ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Brázdil, Karel (referee) ; Šíma, Jiří (referee)
Abstract This thesis focuses on topographic mapping of rock formations with the use of new technologies in a comprehensive manner, from airborne laser scanning (ALS) data acquisition and processing in rocky terrains, followed by their processing to the content of topographic databases and their cartographic processing in maps. The introduction discusses issues of importance for practice, and the relation between topographic mapping of rocks and other fields of human activity. The ALS section describes products for topographic mapping of rocks derived from ALS data, and discusses the specifics of ALS data acquisition and processing in wooded rugged terrain. Existing solutions of this problem are explained and their limitations are identified. Author's own approaches to solving this task are presented as case studies, including three made a further three designed experiments with ALS data processing and evaluation of their results. Recommendation regarding mapping of sandstone landscapes in Czechia have been also addressed. The topographic section describes the current representation of rocks and related objects in the ZABAGED database (Czech national digital topographic database), explains the historical context, analyzes this data and identifies their shortcomings in relation to the ALS. Research...
