Heat Treatment of Forged Axles

This thesis presents a production and heat treatment of forged axles. Additionally, there is the supplier selection procedures for the production of steel axles, mechanical and chemical tests, methods of preservation and packaging of axles. All procedures and technologies that are listed in this work are used in Bonatrans Group Inc., which is in production and processing of axles one of the largest companies in the world.

Methods of control of railway wheels in current technical practice

The proposed bachelor´s thesis looks into the inspection methods of railway wheelsets in current technical practice. First there is a description of the railway wheelset and the wheel production procedure. The main part of the thesis describes particular categories of wheel inspection. These are described as destructive, non-destructive and final tests. At the end some cases of wheel failure that happened during operation are stated. Finally there is also an outlook for railway transport in the future.

This bachelor´s thesis deals with an analysis and a description of railway wheelsets´ renovation. The theme offers a complete view of a technology, conditions and renovations´ posibilities. In the theoretical part, there is mentioned a basic terminology with an overview of all defects and also their removing in the workroom practice. Practical part is illustrated with the technological process of a repaired vehical in the company DPOV, a. s. PSO Nymburk. In the end, there is a summary of all potencial possibilities leading towards improving the functioning of the company with the emphasis on renovation of a components, which nowadays must be eliminated out of operation.

Methods for the wear determination of a railway wheel

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of measuring the wear of railway wheels. Railway wheels are subject to high loads and therefore their profile also suffers from high wear. Early exposure of a damaged wheel can prevent fatal train accidents, and hence there is a need to measure wear not only periodically in laboratory but also in during train operation. Wear measurement methods are currently divided into 3 types, the most developed of which are the on-track and laboratory measurement methods. On-train measurement methods are in most cases only at the study stage due to the difficulty of their application to the train set.
