It investigates the influence of the Czech legacy of Moravian Brethren in North America and its preserving. Furthermore, it focuses on the educational activities of Bohemian Brethren in the Czech Republic, especially in Mladá Boleslav.
The resistance of Pavel Glos during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia

Main goal of this work is to describe the resistance activities of Pavel Glos during era of Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia from the available sources. To put this activities to the context of all anti-Nazi resistance and to evaluate their benefits. Also map its transformations that were determined by the current situation, needs and objectives of the resistance movement. This aspect is much more important for Pavel Glose, who took part in resistance activity for the whole period of the Nazi occupation. The intention of this work is also to remind the personality of Pavel Glos, who acted as the parson of the Unitas Fratrum in Turnov. Although he is virtually unknown today, he was one of the prominent figures of the Czech anti-Nazi resistance. Among his close collaborators were Vladimír Krajina, Jaroslav Valenta and Rudolf Mareš. He also participated in the collaboration with the paratroop groups Antimony and Barium, which were sent to the Protectorate by the London Exile Government. The archive documents from the National Archives, Archives of Security Forces, the Military Central Archive and the Archive of the Unitas Fratrum, as well as historical and memoir literature were used during the processing of the work.
Argumentation in confessional polemics between the Unity of the Brethren and Jesuits at the begining of the 17th century

The thesis deals with an analysis of two texts from the beginning of the 17th century. Specificaly, it pays attention to a treatise of Matouš Konečný, a member of Unity of the Brethren, Pravda vítězící and an anti-brethren treatise of Ctibor Kotva from Freyfeld Mumraj sbornické pravdy vymaškařenej. Based on style and discourse analysis, the work follows similarities and differences of argumentation of both texts of authors coming from the same language but different confessional, and into a certain degree also cultural, background.

This thesis focuses on the Unity of the Brethren and Jan Blahoslav who was an embodiment of the synthesis of Christian reformation and humanism. It documents the historical context and describes the gradual process of implementing the principles of humanism and education in the Unity of the Brethren since the origins of the Unity all the way to the activity of Jan Blahoslav. It touches on the connection between the courses of reformation and humanism. It charts the personality and life's work of Jan Blahoslav with emphasis on humanistic principles of his work. The social status of members of the Unity of the Brethren in Mladá Boleslav in the early 17th century

The Unity of the Brethren has a rich history in Mladá Boleslav. This thesis focused on the social status of members of the Unity of the Brethren in Mladá Boleslav in the early 17th century. The basic source, from which the research is based, is a part of a unique finding of the Brethren Church correspondence, which had been found in 2006. This is the registra of Boleslav corps Church from the years 1610 and 1611. By the processing and evaluation of entries in these registers is determined by amount of members of the Corps unity and their percentage representation of Bohemian Brethren in the population of the city. The participation of members of the Unity in the administration of the city has been identified according to the data in the indexes and records preserved in the books of the early 17th century. The work also pays attention to the representation of Bohemian Brethren in the leading positions of individual guilds in Mladá Boleslav. The subject of research is also the property status of the members of the Unity corps in Mladá Boleslav. Research found that in 1610 and 1611 members of the Unity corps in Mladá Boleslav were 17 % to 18 % of the population of the city. Church Order of the Unity of Czech Brethren

Church Order of the Unity of Czech Brethren that was published 1632 in Lesno (Poland) belongs within the publications of Unity to its late prints. Since Church Order is a print approved by the authority Synod of Unity, undoubtedly represents the official views of Unity of Czech Brethren first half of the seventeenth century. Its name "Church Order" evokes to its readers feel that it is more about matter related to canon law. When reading the Church Order, it is quite soon obvious that the text itself does not respond to this assumption. This work aims to characterize the Church Order of Czech Brethren regarding to the purpose for which it was written, and in the first part gathers and evaluates information that illustrate the historical background of the text. This part is than focused on the nature of thought and legal environment of the time and place at which and on which the text originated. On this basis, the purpose and character of the text of the Church Order is specified. The second objective, which this work follows, is the search for answers to the question whether the text itself, (which for the most part describes the practical issues of life of the Christian community, ranging from regional level o of the Church to the level of practical application of the Christian approach to everyday family...
