Effect of growing openness of Turkish economy on income distribution

Turkey is a country that in the last three decades has undergone significant changes and developments leading to greater openness of the economy. It is also a member of OECD exhibiting one of the highest levels of inequality of income distribution. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the relationship between the openness of the Turkish economy and the distribution of income and verify whether this relationship develops analogously to the Kuznets curve. First, this paper deals with political and economic developments in Turkey between 1980 and 2012. Then, I approach the problem of inequality of income distribution and using the Gini index quantify and comment the income inequality. The final part is devoted to examining the relationship of openness of the economy and inequality of income distribution and verifies the assumption of an analogy to the Kuznets curve.

Inbound tourism to Istanbul

The topic of the bachelor's thesis is Inbound tourism to Istanbul. The main aim of the theoretical part of this paper is introducing Turkey as a country with many opportunities. The biggest part is focused on the city of Istanbul which generates a great share of the country's income, mostly from the tourism sector. In the practical part of my bachelor's thesis I will evaluate the demand and the supply of products and services of tourism in Istanbul, I will analyse incoming foreign tourists according to various criteria and I will create a SWOT analysis of the city. The end of this thesis will be focused on suggestions and recommendations for a positive future development of tourism in the city.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the realization and assessment of the method using root cores for differentiation of the sprout or seedling origin of a tree. The research took place at the coppices of Research forest of Istanbul University in Turkey. Subsequently the number of tree rings in root and trunk cores were counted and compared. The hypothesis of possible determination when the roots are older than the trunk of a tree by number of tree rings was not confirmed. The method was dealing with root wood decay and deformations and according to the results of this research the method cannot be yet recommended for practical use.

Vliv kurdské menšiny na úroveň bezpečnostní a politické stability Turecka

Aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse available sources, published at the level of national and international organizations discussing the Kurdish minority problematics and its influence on security and political stability of Turkey. Changing levels of stability and security is analysed by amount of attacks and victims during activity of The Kurdistan Worker's Party. Problematics of the Kurdish minority is summarized using the SWOT analysis method and its results help to create predictions and suggestions for future solutions.

Roadblocks to Turkey's EU Membership

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of relations between the EU and Turkey.The thesis was based on the questionnaire which was spread among the younger part of the Turkish population. As the research methods, the source research was used for theoretical part and inductive research for the questionnaire analysis. The first chapter deals with the accession process of the Turkey to the EU and its impact on the opinion of the younger part of the Turkish population. The next chapter concerns the culture-religious differences between the EU and Turkey and analyses whether these differences lie an obstacle for an accession to the EU. The last chapter narrates about the Kurdish question and its development in Turkey.

This bachelor thesis deals with the migration from Turkey to Germany. The aim is to assess the development of international migration from Turkey to Germany with emphasis on its economic impact for the host country and country of origin. This bachelor thesis examines the issue of lower levels of education and high unemployment rate among immigrants from Turkey. Positive and negative effects of migration for the country of origin and for the receiving country are also evaluated. There was used a correlation method for comparison of the unemployment rate and changes in the number of immigrants. It was found that the higher the unemployment rate is, the lower is the number of immigrants going the country.

History of the Turkish Ballet and Contemporary Dance

My thesis is based on dance art and its current situation in Turkey. In my work I begin to
analise the history of dance in Turkey from the Ottoman era, followed by the process and
repertoire of the state ballet companies, independent foundations and contemporary dance
companies. Except the institutional history, I also mention some of the Turkish choreographers
who changed the course of developement of dance in Turkey.

Goal of the thesis is to apprise readers with concept of ecotourism, its principals and social, ecological and economic impacts. Mention pilot countries and authorities, which deal with this issue globally. It should describe Turkish republic in physic-geographic and socio-economic page and valorise potential of ecotourism in this area. There is mentioned current condition of Turkish ecotourism and referred on current strategies and overtures of Turkish government, which deals with this issue. In conclusion it provides own opinion about their conduct and suggests personal solutions.
