Ráčková, Jana ; Horynová, Miroslava (referee) ; Čelko, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with thermal spraying technology. The first part is devoted to a literature review, which describes the steps needed to prepare spraying, plasma coating. The thesis describes three basic technologies of plasma sprayed coatings and conventional atmospheric plasma spray powders, atmospheric plasma spraying of suspensions and plasma spraying of precursors.
Separation of rigid particles from heterogeneous suspension
Prax, Ondřej ; Debreczeni, Ondřej (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
The bachelor thesis contains a literature search dealing with the separation of solid particles from a heterogenic suspension. The first part is aimed at separation methods. Then, a chapter follows dealing with separation devices, which are used in waste water treatment plants. A more detailed description of the separator used for the separation of sand from waste waters is part of this paper. The described device serving to separate solid particles from a suspension uses the combination of sedimentation and separation methods. To visualize the separator a 3D model in Autodesk Inventor Professional 9 device was used in the presented paper.
Gelcasting of Advanced Ceramics
Veselý, Jan ; Maca, Karel (referee) ; Trunec, Martin (advisor)
In Bachelor thesis, a literary overview of gelcasting method was worked out and pursuant to this overview, composition of alumina suspension was optimised for fabrication of bulky and complex-shape ceramic part. Four variants of ceramic powder filling in suspensions were prepared. Based on the experiments, a suspension with powder loading of 47,5 vol. % was chosen. The ratio between linear and crosslinking monomers was investigated for this suspension. A suspension with monomer ratio of 4 : 1 (linear : crosslinking) was chosen for preparation of bulky and complex-shape ceramic part. Gelcasting was verified by fabrication of ceramic medal and a knee-joint.
Compaction of ceramic nanoparticle suspensions by centrifugal forces
Mišák, Jiří ; Maca, Karel (referee) ; Trunec, Martin (advisor)
In bachelor’s thesis, there was researched compacting of ceramic suspensions prepared from aluminium oxide with particle size of 100 nm by centrifugal forces. The homogeneity of centrifuged bodies was described in dependence of the speed of centrifugation. It was shown, that homogenous plate samples with regular particle packing could be prepared from centrifuged bodies. The structure and sintering behaviour of such bodies were superior to samples prepared by cold isostatic pressing. Similar properties could be reached in samples prepared from suspension with high loading (47,5 vol.%) as well as with lower loading (20 vol.%). The advantage of regular and dense particle packing by centrifugal compaction was demonstrated by manufacturing of transparent ceramic samples.
Studying the effect of the application of inorganic nanofibers in high strength concretes
Sedláček, Daniel ; Hela, Rudolf (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
This thesis summarizes the current knowledge of reinforcement of concrete with nanofibers and conducted research on the issue of the use of inorganic nanofibers in ultrahighperformance concrete. Up to now, most researches focuses on the reinforcement using carbon nanotubes and nanofibers and inorganic nanofibers remained in the background of interest. Due to their different chemical properties, is not only a question of their influence on the microstructure and mechanical properties of concrete, but also the preparation of nanofiber suspension which is not explored such as in the case of carbon nanotubes and nanofibres.
Selection of suitable additives to improve the sedimentation stability of magnetorheological fluids
Vlachová, Kristýna ; Smilková, Marcela (referee) ; Smilek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with preparation of a sedimentation stable magnetorheological (MR) fluid with the use of suitable additives. Based on literary research, the first part describes general properties of this suspension, other options for its stabilization and its use in practice. In terms of the above literature research, preparation of a MR fluid with increased stability is proposed in the experimental part. Sedimentation stability was evaluated both by a device using magnetic flux density and by an analytical centrifuge.
Influence of formulation factors on the polyester nanoparticles size.
Športeň, Radek ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
In the theoretical part of this thesis are described various types of nanoparticles, such as polymeric particles, liposomes, micelles and solid lipid nanoparticles. There are presented basic informations concerning methods of particles preparation in the laboratory conditions such as solutions of polymers dispersion methods by intensively stirring, coacervation of the solutions of polymers, polymeration methods in dispersions, and the exploitation of methods of dispersion of polymeric solutions in the supercritical solvents. In the folowing part of this thesis are some concise informations about the methods of evaluation of basic parameters of the nanoparticulate systems. There are summarised the trivial informations concerning granulometry of particles, their zeta potential, encapsulation effectivity of drugs, and also about the particles shape factor. The focus of this thesis is in the experiment, the main deal were in minimisation of the particle size prepared by the method of emulsification of biodegradable aliphatic α-hydroxyacids polyesters solutions. The main process arrangement was the selection of the appropriate solvent of polymers in the inner emulsion phase and the founding for the mostly efficient emulsifier during the dispersion process of polymer solutions. In process of the...
Particles with antimicrobial silver.
Svobodová, Dana ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
Charles Univerzity in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Candidate: Dana Svobodová Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Milan Dittrich, CSc. Diploma thesis title: Particles with antimicrobial silver The theoretical part of this diploma thesis outlines a brief overview of recent findings on silver nanoparticles. Further, it concerns the kinetic properties of colloidal systems, methods of evaluating the size and shape of colloidal particles, mechanism of antimicrobial activity of colloidal silver and methods of preparation of nanoparticles. Concise information about the toxicity of silver nanoparticles and their impact on the environment is also included. In the experimental part comprehensive report on the results of measurements of granulometric characteristics of microparticles and nanoparticles by photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) is included. The influence of various modifications of preparation procedures and processing on stability, size and the polydispersity of the size in terms of the volume and intensity diameter of the particles with elemental silver deposited on the surface was studied. Optimisation of the disperse system, quality control of the content of colloidal particles by subsequent reduction, the possibilities of using centrifuge and...
Granulometry of nanoparticles from aliphatic acids copolymers.
Šrejma, Robert ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the study of influence on the composition of the system to the size of the nanoparticles from aliphatic polyesters with linear and branched molecules constitution. The emulsion method for distributing of solvent was chosen for preparation of nanoparticles. The theoretical part describes the nanoparticles, its origin and application. The following part is applying to biodegradable polymers, especially PLGA. There is also a mention of antifungal agent terbinafine. The nanoparticles are prepared of this substance. The process is described in the experimental part of thesis. The experimental part is testing different composition of samples. A main emphasis is on the choice of polymer solvent and emulsifier. There are also applied mixtures of solvents and emulsifiers. The important aspect is the evaluation of incorporated terbinafine, which has been the model drug. Prepared dispersions were exposed to stress conditions in the form of several days-storage and centrifugation.
