Kroupa, Ondřej ; Švub, Miroslav (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
The application to promote and support learning of mathematics on a secondary school level in the area of stereometrical effect and in a field of problems illustrated with the help of anaglyphs.
Presentation Software - Solid Geometry, Stereometry
Straka, Tomáš ; Kubíček, Radek (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
The main theme of this document is to describe the way of creating presentation software of solid geometry and stereometry. This application tool should help teachers more to explain the subject. Student has opportunity with this application to better understand explained subject. After a long  deliberation and cooperation with teachers from primary school we decided to choose a solid geometry and  stereometry like the aim of this application. Later we added part where I solve the right method used in geometry constructions. In this document is described the process of work proceeding beginning with analysis, over implementation to testing. Important parts of this application are graphic interface, application control tools and the form of object graphical representation.
How secondary school pupils solve metric problems in 3D geometry
Jankovcová, Anna ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Janda, David (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to gain a deeper understanding of how high school students solve tasks in three-dimensional metric space. All of the selected tasks are solvable using similarity. Since this is not the only way to solve these problems, I also observe the procedures and strategies that students employ whilst solving them. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I define the basic terms and deal with difficulties which might occur while solving the selected problems. I also describe the expected outcomes of stereometry teaching in curricular documents. In the practical part, I firstly analyse the way certain metric problems are solved in high school textbooks. Then I describe how I did my research, in which 12 students participated. As my method for conducting the research I chose to interview the students about their solutions to the selected tasks in order to obtain enough information about the challenges that the students have in solving these problems and to observe the strategies they use. In the closing section of this thesis, I summarize the procedures which high school students use to solve metric problems, as well as the difficulties that some students had. My research has shown that students use various techniques to solve metric...
Stereometric Tasks in Entrance Exams for Secondary Schools and in Graduation Exams
HORÁČKOVÁ, Lenka
The aim of the diploma thesis on the subject of 'Stereometric Tasks in Entrance Exams for Secondary Schools and in Graduation Exams' was to analyse available results of entrance exams and graduation exams of mathematics and to create a GeoGebra book of exercises for practice based on the received information.
Solution of stereometic problems
KŘÍŽOVÁ, Kamila
This diploma thesis follows up the bachelor thesis named Stereometric tasks, where the author solved a collection of problems using parallel projection. The main method in this diploma thesis is the Monge projection. The first part of the thesis includes a standard tasks. Thenafter the author continues with metric tasks and tasks on mutual positions of solids which are solved by Monge projection. The second part of the thesis is a something like a didactic view on stereometry at elementary schools. It focuses on spacial tasks in entrance examinations, on the ability of pupils to solve them and on didactic aids and means that help to develop the spatial imagination of pupils.
Solving stereometric problems in GeoGebra
HORÁČKOVÁ, Lenka
The aim of the bachelor's thesis on the subject of 'Solving stereometric problems in GeoGebra' was to create a collection of own solved examples from stereometry from the curriculum in the range from primary school, through secondary school to university training of mathematics teachers. The GeoGebra program is a support tool for this bachelor's thesis. The work focuses mainly on the curriculum of primary and secondary schools, partly also on the curriculum at universities. The work focuses mainly on square figures in the scope of the curriculum at primary and secondary schools and partly also at universities.
Anaglyphs and their application in teaching stereometry
Matěková, Radka ; Surynková, Petra (advisor) ; Šarounová, Alena (referee)
My bachelor thesis Anaglyphs and their application in teaching stereometry deals with anaglyphs and their creation. It gives information about linear perspective, which is necessary for the creation of anaglyphs. The terms of linear perspective are explained as well as the methods we can use in constructions of this projection. The thesis is mainly devoted to anaglyphs and their creation by the tools of descriptive geometry - central projection and especially linear perspective. Types of anaglyphs, drawing of anaglyphs and the possibility of constructing anaglyphs by software are mentioned. The third chapter deals with stereometry and it uses anaglyphs to support the spatial imagination. There are two versions of the third chapter - each one uses different types of anaglyphs to show the same problems of stereometry. 3D red cyan glasses are enclosed to the thesis as well as a CD containing both versions of the thesis and two files showing the creation of anaglyphs. The thesis is meant to be used by teachers and students in teaching and studying stereometry.
Tools for 3D modeling in teaching solid geometry
Taušová, Jana ; Procházka, Josef (advisor) ; Vaňková, Petra (referee)
TITLE: Tools for 3D modelling in teaching solid geometry AUTHOR: Bc. Jana Taušová DEPARTMENT: Department of Information Technology and Technology Education SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Josef Procházka, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The key topic of the thesis is the possibility of enhancement of the teaching of solid geometry through a 3D modelling program of choice. The theoretical part of the work defines solid geometry as a branch of mathematics. It furthermore investigates spatial visualization ability as a crucial one for understanding this particular area; and also explains the possibilities of computer program usage. The practical part starts with an inquiry into the use of ICT tools at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Then there is an overview of the programs suitable for teaching, and methodology for a particular section of solid geometry curriculum. The suggestions mentioned in the methodology section have been used during class work (the 7th year students of an 8-year comprehensive grammar school), as specified in the last part of the work. Thus we have researched the actual practical use of our theoretical inferences. KEY WORDS: Tools for 3D modelling, ICT support for education, spatial visualization ability, solid geometry
Teaching a Spatial Geometry and Developing Spatial Abilities Using a Computer
Gergelitsová, Šárka ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Karger, Adolf (referee) ; Pech, Pavel (referee)
of doctoral thesis Title: Teaching a Spatial Geometry and Developing Spatial Abilities Using a Computer Author: Šárka Gergelitsová Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: RNDr. Tomáš Holan, Ph.D., Department of Software and Computer Science Education Abstract: In this thesis we present a contemporary overview of current possibilities of using computer support for teaching geometry and the development of spatial imagination. The materials are aimed at the secondary school curriculum (for students 15-19 years old), many of them, however, could be used for younger or older students. The work is outlined as a tool and a set of teaching materials for teachers. The basic part of this thesis is a set of commented examples and tasks that can be solved by the use of dynamic geometry systems including the 3D models for these tasks. The set consists of more than 100 problems and examples with hints or answers and includes a CD with more than 300 supportive models including models-templates for creating tests. Materials include some prepared spatial imagination tests and quizzes. Some of the mo- dels serve as a tool for their design and offer automatic solution checking. We present also our own set of educational applications and games created to support the im- provement...
