Possibilities of education and activation of seniors in social facilities

The diploma thesis is focused on mapping the possibilities and availability of education and activation of seniors in social services of selected social facilities in the South Moravian Region. The thesis monitors the offer of educational and activation programmes for the elderly in the South Moravian Region, especially in the Hodonín and Kyjov districts, their implementation and positive or negative impact on the elderly. In the theoretical part, I focus on the topic of old age, a very topical issue of ageing, the definition of essential educational and activation programmes and their importance and benefits, the quality of the programmes offered and the education and activation of seniors in the context of the applied science discipline. I mention the participants in the programs, highlighting the need for expertise in the field and a brief breakdown of the programs. In the practical part, I will focus on the offer of activation activities and education of seniors in specific facilities in the South Moravian Region. Senior's Education and social mobilization in social facilities

The thesis is focused on Education and motivating seniors in social institutions and it aims to map the possibilities of education for older people. First the theoretical part deals with the current theme of aging, attitudes of the society to the elderly people and also a range of institutional education for seniors. It also points to the fact that the loss of self-sufficiency and social placement into a residential facility must not forcibly terminate social human activity. The author describes the possible pitfalls of seniors' position in the constitutional device, the phase of adaptation and education. Second the practical part compares the qualitative conditions, features of educational work and the satisfaction of seniors with activation - educational programs in various types of residential facilities. The important finding is that a proportionately larger capacity of facilities in increasing the range of educational programs and the satisfaction of educators with creative work. Most of the interviewed seniors are satisfied with educational programs and particularly welcomes a common form of education, aimed at the enhancement of cognitive functions.
Theoretical Bases for Senior People Care in Residential Facilities in the State of Salzburg, Austria

This theoretical bachelor thesis aims to provide insight into the topic of taking care of aging people. These are clients in residential facilities in the State of Salzburg, Austria. The first chapter deals with the issue of old age and aging. The second chapter covers the topic of dementia and its treatment.This disease is very common with seniorpopulation. The third chapter explains the relevant legislation in the State of Salzburg and the theoretical bases for taking care of clients in residential facilities. We describe the most commonly useed models of care applied in practice. This includes particularly the Basal Stimulation Concept, Validation Concept, Sensory Activation Concept and E. Boehm´s Psychobiography Health Care Model. In the end, the author offers a personal reflection on the situation based on her own experience.
