Macroeconomic Analysis of Development of Slovenia from 1995 to the Present with Focus on Development of Banking

The aim of this thesis is to analyze macroeconomic development in Slovenia in the last 20 years. Special attention is paid to the development of banking sector and Tthe development of its ownership structure. The theoretical part deals with the basic concept of national economy, characteristics of the main macroeconomic aggregates and the banking system. These theoretical solutions provide an information base for the practical part, which processes a macroeconomic analysis of Slovenia from 1995 to the present. Banking sector is analyzed from the perspective of the legal framework and institutional provision. It is followed by the analysis of the Slovenian banking sector itself, which shows that the Slovenian crisis was rooted precisely in the banking sector, which is largely state-owned. The main solution of this situation is the privatization of large state-owned banks and restrictive measures of public finances.
Territorial polarity socio-economic differentiation in Slovenia

Bachelor thesis is focused on territorial polarity socioeconomic differentiation of Slovenia based on spatial analysis of selected indicators. The main goal of this work is the detection of regional disparities and identifying determinants that affect their formation. Individual indicators represent a wide range of geographic realities. According to their nature, indicators are divided into three categories on the economic, social and others. Among the selected indicators include, for example, gross domestic product (GDP), unemployment rate, the total increase or degree of religiosity. The work is mainly concentrated on the territory of Slovenia, but it is also important in a European context. Final results are the determinants creating territorial differentiation and display a degree of territorial polarity.
Analysis of export opportunities of the brewery Poutník

The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the brewery Poutník in terms of its foreign trade and possibilities for entering foreign markets. The first part provides the theoretical knowledge of foreign trade, forms of entry into foreign markets and possibilities of export support in the Czech Republic. In the main part there is a characteristic of the brewery Poutník, this part also contains the PEST analysis, the portfolio analysis, the characteristic of selected economic indicators and the SWOT analysis that is form of these analysis. The analysis of potential foreign markets is used in the next part. There are 3 selected states: Slovenia, Italy, Romania. The PEST analysis and the portfolio analysis are provided for each state. Possibilities of export support from the CzechTrade agency, Czech export bank and EGAP are also chosen. At the end of the thesis it was suggested suitable options of the entry to these markets.
Evolution of Slovenia's trade on an international basis after gaining independence - emphasis on trade cooperation between Czech republic and Slovenia

Broadly, this thesis focuses on analysing the evolution of Slovenian international trade in the context of state economy. Throughout the thesis, Slovenia is being compared to Czech republic. Furthermore, there is a separate chapter dealing with trade cooperation between these two countries. The thesis concludes with a prognosis of Slovenia's future evolution with a particular focus on international trade as well as with possible recommendations.
Porovnání konkurenceschopnosti turistických destinací v České republice a ve Slovinsku

This diploma thesis deals with the benchmarking method and its practical use in continuous process of destinations' competitiveness enhancement. It describes the importance of tourism for destination's development and increasing need of its management, in order to become more competitive. Revealing the key factors of success that are created by destinations' competitive advantages enables destinations to keep or even to strengthen their position on the international tourism market. The main goal of the thesis is to apply the benchmarking method as a tool for an analysis and comparison of selected competitiveness factors of the Czech and Slovene tourist destinations from the Austrian tourists' point of view. Based on the analysis results, the particular competitive advantages of the Czech Republic and Slovenia are determined and commented.

The importance of the automotive industry in the new member states of the European Union in Central Europe

The basic question of this thesis is to evaluate the importance of the automotive industry for the new member states of the European Union from Central Europe, which are the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia. Today automotive industry belongs to the most important industries. After 1990 Central Europe has become an area which is largely dependent on the production of vehicles and components. This thesis seeks to answer the question why this is so. The first part of this thesis introduces the companies operating in these five countries. The following chapter deals with the question of how far the automotive industry is important for the economies of these five countries. It focuses on the automotive industry's share of total exports, gross domestic product or total employment. The aim of the final part is to analyse the development of automobile production in recent years with regard to the economic crisis. Also, it outlines the likely development over the next few years.
Comparison of transition processes in countries of the former Yugoslavia

This work examines differences in transition processes in Slovenia and Croatia since their declaration of independence until the present. It tries to answer this question: Why the gap between Slovenia and Croatia has widened since the beginning of the transition process? Also it tries to analyse the progress of transition processes in these states. The first chapter shows the initial situation in the region and the countries. The second chapter deals with transition process in Slovenia and the third chapter deals with transition process in Croatia.

This diploma thesis deals with the development of the port of Koper during last ten years, including its transport links to markets in Central and Eastern Europe. The aim is to determine, whether the port of Koper has its potential to grow, and if it could become an equal competitor to European ports in the North Sea. It also aims to identify opportunities that should be used, and obstacles that should be overcome in order to ensure successful development of the port of Koper.
