Heat dissipation axially-cooled glassmaking

The presented thesis deals with a numerical simulation of axially cooled glassmaking parison. Several types of cooling channels have been investigated according to its usage in glassmaking process. Software Star CCM+ was used to describe properties throughout the channels and also the parison itself. The main focus of this thesis lies in comparing of temperature fields, cooling effects and cooling intensity among the chosen channel designs. The boundary condi-tions were kept the same accordingly to glassmaking conditions for every design. Some out-puts were transferred to non-dimensional diagrams in order to recalculation pursuant to other boundary conditions. Properties of diffuser channel designs were compared to an experiment. Transient temperature field of the parison were calculated with Ansys APDL in order to de-termine the accumulation and stationary zone of the parison and to verify the boundary conditions for cooling channels.

Specificities of the mammalian teeth and their enamel coat with particular re- spect to the autapomorphies establishing the mammalian organization. Basic structural and organizational levels of the enamel histology (nanocrystals, elementary crystallites, prismatic enamel, IPM, schmelzmuster, ultimate characteristics of particular dentitions). Basic survey of comparative data: characterization of enamel of mammals in particular clades and a brief summary of their specificities. Concluding remarks on current state of knowledge and per- spectives of further study. 1
The intake of food organic acids and the influence on hard dental tissues

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of organic acids on hard dental tissue. The theoretical part is focused on the construction of tooth-enamel, dentin and cement and, of course, to individual organic acids. Furthermore, the disease-dental erosion caused by acids is theoretically described. The practical part consists of evaluated questionnaires. Questions in the questionnaire are formulated to respond to the goals I have set out. The questionnaire was in two forms. The first form was electrocnic and was placed on the Internet. 65 respondents answered this questionnaire. The second form was printed and was placed in the waiting room of the dental clinic in Černý most. The total number of respondents was 102. After evaluating the questionnaire survey, I identified the risk of erosion. The questionnaire survey should also reveal the subjective feeling of patients after ingestion of organic acids.
Long-term durability of composite restoration margins in environments with increased corrosion risk

Introduction: An adhesive bond between hard dental tissues and composite reconstructions is exposed to mechanical load, water, bacteria, enzymes and different chemical compounds. These factors could impair durability and resistance of composite reconstructions. In contrast with extensive research of negative influence of water on degradation of adhesive bonds, the influence of chemical substances on adhesive bond has not been investigated to a greater extent. Aim: The aim of the experimental part of the thesis was to evaluate the influence of hydrogen peroxide containing tooth-whitening products and mouth rinses containing chlorhexidine and fluoride on a long-term stability of class V composite restorations created using four contemporary adhesive systems by a microleakage method. Materials and methods: The following adhesive systems were investigated: total-etch Gluma Comfort Bond (GLU), and self-etch adhesives Clearfil SE Bond (CLF), Adper Prompt (ADP) and iBond (IBO). Standardized class V cavities were prepared in 192 extracted human teeth (one cervical margin in the cementum and one in the enamel). Effect of corrosion environment on the long-term stability of composite material to enamel and dentin bonds

Introduction: Adhesive technology represents a significant advancement among different treatment options of dental caries. Its advantages involve not only highly aesthetic reconstructions, but also ability to preserve hard dental tissues compared to more traditional filling materials such as amalgam, where the material retention was achieved through undercuts. A potential of adhesive technology to arrest progression of an incipient caries has triggered its wider use in dental caries management, potentiated by an ongoing development of new adhesive systems and composite materials that assure an acceptable long-term stability of adhesive reconstructions. Adhesive bonds of dental reconstructions are in the oral cavity constantly challenged by various mechanical, chemical and biological factors. One of the chemical agents with detrimental potential is peroxide bleaching gel used for teeth brightening. Currently bleaching belongs to the most frequent cosmetic dental procedures. The active ingredient of bleaching gels is hydrogen peroxide or its precursors. It is assumed that free oxygen radicals released from peroxides attack double bonds of chromophore molecules captured within the tooth tissues. Microstructure of a tribosphenic molar - comparative analysis

The proposed thesis concerns in the study of tribosphenic molar, the key apomorphy of mammalian clade, mainly in structure and development of its enamel coat. As the main model species served us European vespertilionid bat Myotis myotis. The aims of this thesis are: (1) to describe structure and microstructure of enamel in tribosphenic molars in detail; (2) to compare it with unicuspid teeth of the same dentition; (3) to describe mineralization process and enamel maturation in insectivorous dentition; (4) to describe late odontogenesis in molars of insectivorous dentition and its interlacing with enamel maturation, and how they come to occlusion.
