Nové formy potravinových trhů v městě Brně

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to contribute to the recognition of alternative food networks in the Czech Republic. The work focuses on the food market FoodPark and the context of its foundation and development. The thesis defines the major signs of such a form of market and identifies involved participants. Motives, necessary preconditions, and potential benefits and risks resulting from the involvement of traders in FoodPark were analysed and evaluated on the basis of semi-structured interviews. The analysis is supported by observations performed at specific markets. FoodPark is one of the regular food markets in Brno and offers the possibility for a diverse group of producers to distribute their products. However, according to the traders, the main advantage is the possibility of advertising and raising awareness about their products.

This bachelor thesis focuses on the phenomenon of accelerated society and global thought movement the Slow Movement, as a response to this social trend of recent centuries. Firstly, the author describes the historical development of the social accelerating in addition to its impact on humanity and environment, which, it is found out, are often significantly negative. Subsequently, the study describes the historical and cultural differences in human perception of time and the different pace of life of selected countries and nations of the world. Furthermore, the study focuses attention on the first tendency toward a slowdown that began to emerge in the society at the modern time, and increasingly was asserted in the postmodern age. The main part of the work represents a global movement Slow Movement, the circumstances of its origin, development in time, and the main ideas of the whole concept. Through a detailed description of each thematic branch of the Slow Movement, there are also presented specific methods and guidelines for the implementation of life in accordance with the slow philosophy. The conclusion summarizes the main findings and insights that have been achieved in the study, voiced suggestions for the future research, as well as a brief reflection on the prospects of potential future success and further expansion of the Slow Movement thoughts.
Modern approaches to the city development planning and conceptions

The thesis introduces chosen initiatives that reflect the changing atmosphere and social values of population in the economically well-developed part of the world. The change in the social values is a consequence of deepening socio-cultural and economic interdependence of the regions and the cities in the globalised world. Main presumptions of successful implementation of the initiatives are analysed in order to confront it with the environment of the Czech cities. The main objective of the thesis is an evaluation of the readiness for the usage of these new initiatives in the current Czech city development. There is a visible change in social values among the Czech population under way, however that is typical for its hedonic character. Most of the presumptions are more or less fulfilled with the regional differences. Some of the initiatives have even already been successfully implemented with the positive impact on the environment. Therefore further involvement of similar initiatives could be expected in the future.
Slow Food as a modern trend in the Czech food industry and gastronomy

The quality and origin of food are topics that are currently widely discussed not only in Czech society, but worldwide. High-quality food andmeals, environmental protection, and especially the preservation of regional differences are the key ideas of a movement called Slow Food. The main idea of this movement is the perception of gastronomy as a phenomenon that supports a national and local autonomy, environmental protection, and diningculture. The concept of Slow Food also consists of thoughtful and responsible choice of food by consumersand the preparation ofhigh-quality meals at home as well as in restaurants. This thesis describes the history and basic ideas of the Slow Food organization and focuses on the current impact of this movement in the Czech Republic. The thesis describes the Slow Food movement's stances oncurrent topics of agricultural policies, such as the common agricultural policy of the European Union, biodiversity and genetically modified crops. The thesis also describesa methodology of evaluating a survey that was conducted by the author for the purposes of this thesis. The survey aimed to confirm or to refute concrete hypotheses that were related to the market and business potential of agricultural products, foods and meals that fulfill the requirementsof the Slow Food movementin the Czech Republic.At the same time this thesis also compares prices of Slow Food products with standard food distributed by the international retail chains.
Slow Food and its potential in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the potential for the further market expansion of Slow Food in the Czech Republic through the analysis of the market conditions of gastronomy and the analysis of the present and of the future services in the field of Slow Food. The literature review provides theoretical insight into the issues. Following parts are situation analysis of Slow Food in the Czech Republic and presentation of results of quantitative and qualitative research. The suggestions made reflect the above mentioned facts for extension of Slow Food.
Slow tourism as a new form of tourism

The thesis is focused on slow tourism. The first chapter is dedicated to national and international documents governing sustainable development of tourism, impacts of tourism and approaches to sustainable tourism. It also defines slow tourism, presents the history of its origin, present and future position in the world tourism and the typical participant of slow tourism. Destination of slow tourism and requirements of slow tourists are characterized in this thesis. The next chapter deals with slow tourism potential in the Czech Republic, which is evaluated by statistical analysis.

The topic of the thesis is the movement ?Slow Food?. The theoretical part describes the history, the organization and the present situation of the movement. It shows the activities of a non-profit organization which is focused on the problem of preserving local food specialities, promotion of national cuisine, slow and good quality eating, support of small producers and farmers and preservation of environment. The practical part of the thesis gives an overview of the general public knowledge about the existence of ? Slow Food? and its influence on the consumer?s choice when shopping for food.
