Spot Welding Machine for Li-ion Battery Cells
Martinček, Martin
This article describes creation of spot welding machine prototype. Spot welding enables joining bigger number of Li-ion cells in order to create higher energy storage. Main objective of this article is to design diagrams and algorithms for the spot welding machine. Requirements to regulate current and minimize heat stress on battery cells are implemented in the solution.
Welder for lithium batteries
Martinček, Martin ; Jaššo, Kamil (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This Bachelor’s Thesis deals with the composition of lithium batteries, lithium cell joining, and the design of a device customised for contacting an 18650-size cylindrical cell. The first part discusses the construction, basic materials of the lithium batteries and their applications. In the next section, an overview of several methods of cell contacting and their comparison with each other is presented. The last section discusses different parts of the design and construction of the device, working on the principle of spot resistance welding.
Certification of company according to ČSN EN 15085 and ČSN EN ISO 3834
Kazdera, Tomáš ; Daněk, Ladislav (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The project elaborated in frame of engineering studies is focused on the certification of the company SW-MOTECH sro in the welding of steel structures for rail vehicles. According to standards ČSN EN 15085 and ČSN EN ISO 3834. The first part focuses on theoretical introduction to the used welding methods. The second section describes the destructive and non-destructive tests on individual welding methods, including their evaluation. Based on work tests pWPS is exposed to welding procedure WPS
Strength point connections in the soft and hard mode welding
Steiner, Jaromír ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
Spot welding of 1.4307 material of 1+1 mm thickness is tuned out excellently by the enterprise ROSTEX – at the changes only of the welding current it was managed to approach the value of thickness achieved by enterprise ROSTEX. At the welding of 1.4307 material of 2+2 mm thickness it was managed to achieve more strength under welding parameters: Fs = 5500N, Is = 8,964 kA, ts = 10 Per. Spot welding of 1.0330 material revealed a possibility in proceeding with welding current increasing which could stand for the weld strength increasing (not necessarily) – a limit where material could splash was not achieved. The soft mode welding is not convenient for up-to date spot welding because the material is extremely affected by heat at the long welding time, it also leads to huge thermal losses, thermal effect and distortion of electrodes (electrodes life diminishing). Soft mode welding is not expedient even economically. In accordance with economic comparison, see chart 27, page 64 – for instance welding of 1.4307 material with 1+1 mm thickness at 1000 welds there is difference of 644 Czech crowns between the hard and the soft mode welding in benefit to the hard mode.
Operation of a distribution system with resistance welders
Zelený, Miroslav ; Šlezingr, Jan (referee) ; Drápela, Jiří (advisor)
This Diploma thesis deals with assessment of the influence of two fundamental types of resistance welders operation on chosen power quality parameters at the point of common coupling (PCC) of the power network. The assessed parameters of power quality are the total harmonic distortion of the supply voltage, asymmetry of the supply voltage and the level of short term flicker at the point of common coupling. The assessment is based on the comparison of the results of computer simulations done in PSCad 4.2.0 with the requirements of technical standards. The outcome of this thesis is the determination of allowable limits for physical and operation parameters for the general arrangement of a power distribution network and a resistance welder that should guarantee the power quality compliance.
Proposal of test equipment/method for quick verification of quality of welded joints
Zejda, Václav ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is dealing with the proposal and the choice of the proper method for quick check of weld seams of ball pivot of automobile stabilizers created by the resistance welding method. The first, theoretical part deals with the resistance welding. The second part deals with a description of the production process and testing of the particular component. The last part contains personal proposals and an assessment of the suitability of use of each construction solution of simple mechanical devices for quality checking of the weld seam. The recommended method to use is the Charpy impact test which served as the base for designing the special test device.
