The Project 'Reconstruction of the State' as an Anti-Corruption Initiative

This bachelor's thesis deals with the problem of corruption in the Czech Republic and with the project Reconstruction of the State, which aims to alleviate corrupt practices. The thesis describes corruption from a theoretical point of view, its definition, causes and level of corruption in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, anti-corruption organization Reconstruction of the State is introduced, its genesis and goals, method of operation and financing are described. The thesis also deals with anti-corruption precautions proposed by the Reconstruction of the State and subsequently linking the organization with political parties. At the end of the thesis, an analysis of the impacts of this project is performed.
Anti-corruption policies in the Czech Republic – Government's strategy in the fight against corruption between the years 2011 and 2012

The purpose of the thesis is to evaluate the real impact of anti-corruption policies of the Czech Government. Therefore, the thesis firstly deals with the phenomenon of corruption and the fight against it in general. Subsequently, various anti-corruption strategies from 1999 to 2010 are introduced. Fundamental part of the thesis is devoted to an analysis of the Government's strategy in the fight against corruption between the years 2011 and 2012. Measures taken according to this strategy are examined in the light of the recommendations of NGOs that are engaged in the anti-corruption fight. The thesis sets out the strengths and the weaknesses of the strategy and points out the major flaws that need to be resolved as soon as possible. The third part suggests a solution to each of the problems that have emerged from the analysis. The proposals are mainly based on the recommendations of the anti-corruption organizations in the framework of the Reconstruction of the State and the Government's strategy in the fight against corruption between the years 2013 and 2014. Conclusion of the study shows to what extent is the current Czech government's anti-corruption policy successful.
Analysis of the Current Issue of Corruption in the Czech Republic with a Focus on Public Administration

This diploma thesis analyses the current state of corruption in the Czech Republic. Primarily I focus on public administration and public sector, however I seek a comprehensive view on the issue in my thesis. The first part presents the theoretical approaches to corruption, bureaucracy and public administration, lobbying, interest groups etc. The practical part deals with methods of measuring corruption, the position of the Czech Republic against other states, legal specification of corruption and the impact of corruption in the states economy. Furthermore, I present causes of origin and spread of corruption and analyse current and planned instruments of government anticorruption fight in combination with the activities of organizations dealing with corruption. The aim of my thesis is to determine whether the current anti-corruption steps are properly set and whether those steps are actually implemented.
