A Study on the Arch-Supported Membrane Structures Resistance to Ponding Effect
Zajac, Zbyněk ; Lang, Rostislav ; Němec, Ivan
This study deals with the ability of arch-supported membrane structures to withstand water accumulation. A previously developed specialized software tool may help prevent the occurrence of the ponding effect already in the design process. The influence of dimensions, surface prestress level and membrane material was investigated. The initial support layout and topology’s influence on the occurrence of the ponding effect was proved. The study outcomes may serve as the basis for the initial dimensions design of arch-supported membrane structures.
Shear Resistance of Prestressed Beams According to the Different Design Approaches
Baran, Jaroslav ; Borzovič, Viktor
The contribution deals with the shear resistance of prestressed beams and aims to compare experimental results with different design approaches. The experiment included two experimental tests on a sample prestressed beam. The course of the experiment is briefly described in the discussion. The prestressed beam, with an I cross-section, had bonded tendons and a total length of 7.0 m. A detailed description of the beam reinforcement, material characteristic and test setup are included. The reliability of individual design approaches is compared based on the analysis developed in this contribution.
Motorway Viaduct
Polách, Marek ; Šopík,, Leonard (referee) ; Stráský, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis is a design of a bridge crossing the valley of the Hrabyňka creek as a part of road I/II. Firstly, three possible structures are designed and according to their advantages and disadvantages, the best of them is selected. In this case a cable stay bridge was selected. Following is a design of span lenghths, collumn heights and the cross-section. Then the loads are detremined and applied on a numeric model cretaed in software working on the basis of FEM. In continuation internal forces are calculated and their propriate combinations for service limit stay and ultimate limit state with time dependent analysis taken into account. In the end the reinforcement steel is designed for one part of the structure. Detailed drawings are also part of the thesis.
Highway box girder bridge
Ondrůšková, Kamila ; Nováček, Jan (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the bridging design of the valley and Doľanský potok on the D1 motorway in the section Jánovce - Jablonov in Slovakia. Three variants of bridging have been designed and then compared. A post-tensioned construction of the box girder cross section was chosen as the most suitable variant, which was further checked. The static calculation was drawn up according to European standards.
Frame bridge
Kapsa, Štěpán ; Velešík, Marek (referee) ; Koláček, Jan (advisor)
The work deals with the design of a single-pole frame structure of a road bridge, which is based deeply on piles. Due to the size of the span of 26 m, additionally prestressed cables are designed in the supporting structure. The structure is analyzed by a three-dimensional bar model and assessed for serviceability and load-bearing limit states in the longitudinal and transverse directions. Part of the design is a study of the influence of supporting the computational model and a comparison of the effect of active and resting earth pressure on the structure.
Suspension bridge across expressway R52
Glovina, Filip ; Štefan, Petr (referee) ; Nečas, Radim (advisor)
This work deals with statics and dynamics analysis of stayed cable bridge and design of supporting structure according to limit states. The work contains of static calculation, drawing documentation and visualization.
Structural assessment of the reinforced concrete chimney
Teplý, Jakub ; Hasala, Ivo (referee) ; Girgle, František (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is assessment of existing condition reinforced concrete factory chimney, who has undergone structural and technical survey, under which was found many failures caused of horizontally tension - significant vertical cracks in the chimney stack. The object of this work will also make appropriate proposals rehabilitation of concrete stack by design prestressed cables monostrand in horizontal direction, grouting open cracks and reprofiling surface of chimney stack.
Strenghtening of the load bearing parts of the production hall
Čížová, Kateřina ; Pinkas, Karel (referee) ; Klusáček, Ladislav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the strenghtening of the supporting parts of the production hall in Drásov. In the first part the existing load bearing capacity of the structure is solved. The next step is to design of strenghtening variants for nonconforming columns and short corbel. Columns and short corbel are strenghtening with monostrand. At the end of the thesis, verification of the load bearing capacity of the strenghtening structure is performed.
Girder road bridge
Tang, Minh Phú ; Požár, Michal (referee) ; Panáček, Josef (advisor)
The subject of the Bachelor thesis is to design a road bridge with a single span. The bridge carries a road of a class III., category S7,5, over the international roads E442. Three studies have been designed. Study C has been chosen for detailed elaboration. It is a monolithic double-girder post-prestressed construction. The calculation of load effects is performed in Scia Engineer 19.1. Only the effect of vertical load effects was considered, while the horizontal effects of the load were not taken into account.
Cast-in-place tank
Laurinyeczová, Erika ; Šiška, Radek (referee) ; Strnad, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the analysis of a reinforced concrete digestate tank. The tank is built as a semi-underground construction. The roof is designed as a reinforced concrete dome, which is prestressed in a circular beam with prestressing cables - monostrands. The calculation of internal forces were performed by the software SCIA Engineer. The structure was assessed for the ultimate limit state and the ultimate serviceability state, in terms of watertightness for the width of cracks.
