Urbanism and the Eternal City of Rome

Master's thesis is devoted to the topic of urban planning and the city of Rome. The aim of the thesis is to explore the ways of depicting urbanism in contemporary fine arts, forms and topics in which it is presented. Furthermore, the essential part of the work is the history of urbanism, the principles and deviations of urbanism and especially the Eternal City (Rome). As far as Rome is concerned, the author discusses her foundations, the growth of the city from the very beginning of the foundation, the influences of urbanism, the demonstration of the characteristics of the ancient "urbe" and how today's contemporary artists solve new ways of urbanization, or how and in what way they are inspired by Roman cities? An important element of the cities is not only the city planning itself, but also its Genius loci, the spirit of the place, the author separates and explores the cities of the day and the night cities and explores what are their differences in character. An important part of the thesis will be: How do today's children perceive cities, what do they mean to them? What do they think is important and what is the function of a city? Touches and hand prints, prints of human body in visual art

The bachelor thesis consists of the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with life and work of Eva Kmentová, who created prints and casts of human body. The thesis also deals with body print in broader context and describes chosen graphic techniques and human gestures. The practical part is devoted to the creation of graphics based on both traditional and experimental methods, which follow the knowledge mentioned in the theoretical part of the thesis.

Representation of plants in Roman wall-paintings

(english): This paper discusses displaying plants on the murals, especially in the area of Pompeii and further around affected by eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Showed plants in this work are divided into several categories according to the context of the show. This work contains a list of identified plant species, which is demonstrated in individual examples of paintings. In addition to paintings in Pompeii area this work mentions the example of a display of plants in the garden painting in the Villa di Livia at Prima Porta, near Rome.
