Palm liveness detection and identification
Kala, Adam ; Goldmann, Tomáš (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on the detection of liveness of the human hand and its identification from multispectral images. The main goal of the work is the recognition of a living hand and its forgeries based on the information we have obtained, the finding of minutiae for palm identification and their use. The work describes techniques for cropping the area of interest, extracting characteristic features from the palm, and subsequent detection of liveness and identification of the person. Liveness detection success reached over 90% and person identification with a False Acceptance Rate (FAR) of less than 2% for selected datasets.
Jewellery as object-object as jewellery (theoretical-practical work)
HORATLÍKOVÁ, Lenka
Author´s diploma thesis deals with the topic of jewellery. Theoretical part introduces term "jewellery as an object" to the reader. It also discusses jewellery as such, its origins and history in outlines. The thesis touches the development of Czech jewellery, selected authors are mentioned, such as Eva Eisler or Milan Knížák, their work included. Contemporary jewellery is then introduced through the work of selected artists, who use the theme of imprinting into their work. Imprinting of artist's palm is the main motive of the practical part, from which she creates a number of porcelain artefacts in the form of objects and jewellery.
Extraction of Features from the Palm for Identification of Persons
Pricl, Patrik ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
The work deals with the identification of persons using the palm. The specific properties of the skin and blood vessels are used. The response of the skin and blood vessels to electromagnetic radiation is used to capture these properties. Gabor's filter is used to extract skin properties. The LLBP algorithm is used to extract the veins. It uses the Hamming distance, the Euclidean distance and the K-nearest neighbor algorithm to compare properties.
Laptop Touchpad Palm Detection with AI/ML
Intelligent Control of Ringing Profiles in OS Symbian
Houšť, Marek ; Koutný, Jiří (referee) ; Čermák, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about operations systems in mobile phones focusing on operation system Symbian. It describes proposal, implementation and testing of application for intelligent control of ringing profiles. Application is implemented in operation system Symbian. There is discussion about future development in the end.
Liveness Detection of Human Hand from Multispectral Images
Lebedeva, Polina ; Malaník, Petr (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the detection of the liveness of a human hand from multispectral images. The main objective is to design and implement an algorithm for recognizing live hands and spoofs based on the analysis of hand images illuminated by specific wavelengths. The work describes various techniques for extracting important features from images, their processing, and methods for determining liveness

The effect of hypermobile elbow joint position on hand position in yoga poses.
Wanke, Ondřej ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Králová, Aneta (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effect of elbow joint position on the position of hand in selected yoga poses (cat pose, downward facing dog pose, upward facing dog pose). Then evaluate the suitability of verbal correction of elbow joint - that is often used in yoga classes. The theoretical part includes information about yoga, hypermobility, anatomy and kinesiology of elbow joint and hand and their mutual relationship. We include literature review of different views on the correct position of hand in poses where the upper limb is in supporting function. In 11 probands (10 females and 1 male) was measured the hyperextension (20.91 ± 4.68 degrees) of elbow joint on the dominant limb. Probands were at age of 27.6 ± 11.1 years. 3 of them regularly practice yoga, another 4 have met with yoga at least once. To evaluate the effect of elbow joint position on the position of hand we used pressure scan PEDIKOM to measure pressure distribution on palm. We also measured the angle of elbow joint before and after the correction using the goniometer. To evaluate palmar pressure changes we made a new evaluating scale. Hyperextended position was significant in cat pose (p < 0,05), in other two poses it was not (p > 0,05). The change of elbow joint position after correction was significant in all three...
Detailní simulace proudění, teplot a znečištění vzduchu pro oblast Praha-Dejvice
Resler, Jaroslav ; Geletič, Jan ; Krč, Pavel ; Eben, Kryštof
Simulations of Prague quarter Dejvice were performed with newly developed urban climate model PALM-4U based on LES model PALM. The modelling domain has extent 1000 x 800 m and the resolution of the model was 2 m. Two 24 hours episodes were simulated. The summer episode was intended to assess mainly the UHI effects and the winter episode to assess mainly the air quality issues. Two variants were simulated - the current real situation and the scenario with considered new buildings in the area of Victory Square (Vítězné náměstí). Some comments of the ressults are appended at the end of the report.
