Do Subsidies from the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations Improve Financial Performance of their Recipients?

The thesis is focused on the effectiveness of the subsidies granted from the structural funds of the European Union. Its aim is to verify whether subsidies improve financial performance of their recipients. The thesis is based on the theoretical concept of subsidies and empirical studies proving their either positive or negative effects on the economy. It further analyzes effects of subsidies granted from the Operational programme "Podnikání a inovace" (Enterprise and Innovations) on financial performance of their recipients in following years using the instruments of statistics and econometrics. The results are compared with financial performance of the members of a control group consisting of unsuccessful subsidy applicants in respective period. The thesis comes to the conclusion that subsidies have very weak positive effect on financial performance of their recipients.

Benefits of Cohesion Policy for reducing energy consumption in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the benefit of cohesion policy to reduce energy consumption and preserve an attractive environment in the Czech Republic. The aim is to determine the spatial distribution and allocation of approved financial resources from fields of support related to energy savings. The primary focus is on the Operational Programme Environment - priority axis Sustainable Use of Energy and the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation --priority axis Energy Efficient, which are subjects of the analysis. In conclusion is summarized current information about the form of future cohesion policy after 2013.

European Union support for small and medium enterprises

Diploma thesis interests in European Union support for small and medium enterprises. In the first part the diploma thesis defines the group of small and medium enterprises, it describes strong and weak points of small and medium enterprises and it probes the position of the European Union to small and medium enterprises. The second part describes in detail the four fields of the European Union support to small and medium enterprises: European Union funds, topical support, financial instruments to support small and medium enterprises and support of international performance of small and medium enterprises. The third practical part studies this system of support on three real companies which belongs to the category of small and medium enterprises. This part includes the concrete proposal to one of this companies how to get the grant.

Drawing funds from the European Union by Czech businesses

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of financial resources from the European Union by the Czech business companies. In the theoretical section is defined the concepts of regional policy, its targets for the period 2007-2013 and the Structural Funds. Specifically, it focuses on the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations. The practical part is based on questionnaire research. The questionnaire was sent to Czech companies which draw from the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations. The goal was to find answers to the following questions: what is the business information on option grants, what is the difficulty of the grant application process and the problems that businesses face.

A project of introduction of ICT into a medium sized enterprise

In the theoretical part, this master thesis deals with ICT, Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations with a focus on the programme of support ICT in Enterprises. Furthermore, with the definition of SMEs and specific features of medium sized enterprise. In the practical part, an ICT project in a chosen company is described and analyzed. The project is evaluated and further opportunities of development of ICT in the company are suggested. The last chapter provides implications from the ICT area for similar businesses.

Cluster development perspektives in Czech republic

The main object of this thesis is analyse conditions for formation clusters in the Czech republic and possibility their other development. The thesis contains characteristics of the last and present operational programme, which support clusters. The other part of the thesis is analyse of the present situacion of development clusters in particular regions of the Czech republic and their comparison with clusters of Austria. In the ending part of the thesis are summarized all information get from questionnaire and interwiev with manager of the cluster EKOGEN.
