The literary source of the inscription slab of the Žerotín Palace in Olomouc

This conference paper deals with Latin inscription on monumental sandstone slab of the Žerotín Palace in Olomouc. The large late Renaissance heraldic slab with ornamental cartouches was ordered around 1597 by the Moravian captain Fridrich the Elder from Žerotín. Fourteen line long moralizing Latin inscription is literal quote from the book Melodaesia sive Epulum Musaeum by neo-Latin poet Friedrich Taubmann from 1597.

The goal of the bachelor thesis is to create proposal of offer optimization for service providers of physical activities for seniors. The first part deals with literature overview discussing active ageing and communication channels which seniors use when searching for physical activity opportunities. The second part focuses on analysis of primary and secondary data based on which the proposal was created. Separate chapter is dedicated for the proposal of optimization. Chapter discussion describes the limits and limiting factors.

Vývoj změn koryta řeky Moravy a okolního prostoru na území města Olomouce

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of changes in the riverbed of the Morava river and surrounding areas in the city of Olomouc. It defines the river environment, the river and watercourse adjustments in urban areas. Furthermore, it describes various features of the selected area. These include its biogeographical description, history, localization of the area, demographic aspects and the river basin of the Morava river in Olomouc. The interpretation of the results is based on the comparison of a historical and modern map support, which is supported by contemporary photographs.

The thesis Study of existing flood protection at the selected location in the Morava river basin deals with the issue of flood control measures and includes also sociological research. It describes the specific situation in the village Moravičany and the town of Olomouc. The monitored municipalities were affected by floods repeatedly, the worst in 1997. Since this critical year, various flood control measures have been implemented to protect the municipalities from overflowing water.

The diploma thesis The Potential of the Morava River in Olomouc deals with the use of the river and the coastal areas in the current cities. Access to the rivers and their contribution to the city has been explored on selected foreign and Czech realizations. Based on acquired theoretical and practical experience, the principles of designing coastal zones in cities were formulated. The second part of the thesis deals with the concrete design of the coastal area around the Morava river in Olomouc. The solved territory is located in the very heart of the city and is a key area of planned flood protection of the city. The proposal seeks to enrich the water management solution with recreational elements and instead to integrate more into the citys structure.

Magdeburg law in Bohemia and Moravia in the period of 14th to 16th century Abstract This thesis aims to discuss the development and form of Magdeburg law in the period of 14th to 16th century including the analysis of existing research about Magdeburg law. The thesis is mainly focused on Litoměřice and Olomouc as the heads of Magdeburg municipal family in Bohemia and Moravia. The thesis is based on the comprehensive analysis of Magdeburg law beginning with its origins and development trends and ending with the description and characteristic of its legal sources as well as its most important legal institutes. The thesis uses not only legal-historical, but also historical and auxiliary historical methods, specifically the method of legal analysis of the text, diplomatic method, comparative method and analysis of the literature. The aim of the thesis is first, to present the state of historical research and literature on Magdeburg law. The goal here is to offer the reader a comprehensive overview of current trends in the research, pending discourse and the various approaches to Magdeburg law. The Life and Work of Vlasta Fialová, actress of Brno This master's thesis is to bring closer the life and work of one of the most prominent Czech artists of the 20th century. The actress, who wrote herself into the history of film, television productions and radio, but especially the theater that was everything for her. The work is trying to capture her life and career, she has been able to build for a long, active fifty-year period, only in three Moravian cities: Opava, Olomouc and Brno. The work maintains a line beginning in the period before her birth, focuses on the cultural and historical events of the Brno metropolis, the beginning of her life, the years of childhood and adolescence, which she experienced as a student of a grammar school and a musical drama department of the Brno Conservatory during the Nazi occupation of her hometown. And then emphasis is placed on her individual theatrical engagements, as well as on the films and TV productions in which she performed, and the programs recorded for the radio. Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the mirror of the Late Gothic wall paitings in Olomouc

The thesis is focused on Marian devotion with great emphasis on Rosary. In regard on this matter papers presents Olomouc as an important catholic town of Central Europe. Result of this development are unique monuments, concretely rare mural paintings. Presented thesis includes five chapters that deals with political and social history of the town, just as global development of Marian devotion and Rosary in Europe, together with acceptance of these ideas and establishment of Rosary Confraternity in Olomouc. The most important aims of thesis are: to particularize knowledge of confraternities in town, of their activity and operations and to conduct a complex iconographic analyse of wall paintings with pinpoint of their donators. And last but not least to discuss the still unreflected inscriptions on the wall of the Chapel of St John the Baptist of St Wenceslas Cathedral in Olomouc.

Suburbanization of the Olomouc city and its impact on city center and surroundings

This thesis focuses on residential suburbanization within Olomouc city and its surroundings. The aim of the thesis is to determine the degree of intensity of suburbanization of individual settlemements based on the available data. Pursuant evaluation, the settlements with higher suburbanization intensity will be selected and subjected to investigation. The purpose of the investigation is to determine the extent of influence by these processes and what the settlement with higher suburbanisation intensity brings to the citizens. Subsequently, the selected sites and their newly build environement will be assessed from urbanistic and architectural point of view. In conclusion, the detailed analysis of the most suburbanized settlement will be performed.
