Simulation of Data Transmissions in Integrated Networks
Rozsypal, Pavel ; Endrle, Pavel (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The goal of this assignment was to analyze the issue of data transfer in integrated networks focusing on quality of service. The thesis describes the various network elements, their function, advantages and disadvantages. Attention was also paid to neural networks, with a focus on the analogy between biological neuron and the artificial neuron. Another part of paper was dedicated to the simulation possibilities of these network in MATLAB. To simulate the behavior of network elements was used OPNET IT Guru software.
Simulation of QoS models in Opnet IT Guru environment
Zapletal, Lukáš ; Molnár, Karol (referee) ; Kacálek, Jan (advisor)
The main goal of this work is description and following simulation of operating with support of QoS technology in OPNET IT Guru programme. The bachelor’s work contains a theoreticall description of providing the quality of service by force of integrated and differentiated services models and also of the MPLS protocol. The work is particularly focused on IntServ model and its reservation with assistance of the RSVP protocol. The simulation in OPNET IT Guru programme has also been included in the work. Process for constituent parameters setting-up and its characterization for both the models are described thoroughly in work’s supplement. As for the differentiated services, the simulation is performed by confrontation of a voice service in two scripts. In case of differentiated services the mechanisms for tagging of packets and the treatment method have been demonstrated on inside and border routers. Operating types are simulated in ftp, e-mail and voice applications. Verification of authenticity and validity results of objects setting-up is being performed by simulation in OPNET IT Guru environment, Academic Edition version 9.1. Grafical results have also been gained by the simulation.

Laboratory exercises in OPNET environment for Advanced communication techniques course
Mikulecký, Miloš ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
The Master´s Thesis describes laboratory exercises for Advanced communication technology subject. Exercises are created in Opnet IT Guru aplication. Each exercise has detailed instructions according to which can be realized whole exercise. Each exercise also contains individual task, where are checked knowledge gained from studies of example exercise. Exercises are based on issues of routing in autonomous systems, protocol BGP, protocols TCP and UDP and issues of QoS in IP networks.
Optimization of transport network configuration
Švec, Adam ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The communication networks, that we know nowadays has been changing since the time when Alexander Graham Bell discovered the great invention of that time – the telephone. It was mainly the level of the technique and electronics that helped to improve the first systems of connection between each other. This process caused the first communication networks. All the changes were done on the field of the radio operation. The networks were analog and were contained mainly by metallic – cooper wire. On the field of radio communication were mainly electromagnetic waves which maintained the connection of the places where was not able to stretch trunk cables. Communication has made huge qualitative improvement. This process has used different types of wire that were able to transmit higher and higher frequencies and to raise a number of made connections. All those changes were involved in radio network. In 1950s the entertainment was made mainly through television broadcast. This improvement needed the new studios and broadcast systems and also the radio improved. In that time there was huge automatic PBX equipped with stepper drivers matrix switches. The networks started to be divided into access drivers which resulted from the subscriber terminal to the first connection point, for example, the first public telephone exchange. Among these exchanges was formed their interlinking transport or transportation network, to finally, after reaching the target (last panel) would be merged back into the network access for remote users. The aim is to describe some properties of transport networks, the contemporary, which has been fully digital technology. We will focus on data networks, i.e. those that are available to contemporary man, and describe some of the technologies and components that can be used. We meet with OPNET Modeler software and the philosophy of working with him. We recommend optimalization of the designed transportation network on the basis of OPNET Modeler simulation results. Afterwards we design a suitable laboratory task for bachelor degree students of Teleinformatics.
Design of practical tutorials for the OPNET IT Guru simulation environment
Matzová, Martina ; Koutný, Martin (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of three labs in the simulation environment OPNET IT Guru. The first lab demonstrates the differences between the RM OSI transport layer protocols - TCP and UDP. The second lab discusses the role of ICMP protocol and its most famous feature - PING. The third lab is devoted to Application Characterization Environment (ACE) module, which is included in OPNET IT Guru. Theoretical background is provided for all of the mentioned topics. All designed labs can be used to teach at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of BUT on subjects dealing with network technologies.
