The Phenomenon of Zombies in Films by George A. Romero

(in English) This work deals with the phenomenon of zombie in films by George A. Romero. Its objective is to prove that, although the characteristics of the phenomenon underwent significant change within individual films by this director, it still preserved the basic metaphoric function it had already at the time of its origination in Haiti in the 17th century. . The analytical part, in which three selected zombie horrors by George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead and Diary of the Dead) are discussed, is based on the methods of neoformalist analysis. Based on the analysis of individual films, I have proved that the zombie phenomenon in Romero's films works, the same as it does in Haiti, as a metaphor of slavery with this metaphor being varied depending on the issues that become the current topic of each of the films whose actual aim is to criticise the contemporary society.
The totalitarian regime influence on music production in CSSR betveen 1968 - 1989

This diploma thesis deals with the influence of the totalitarian regime on musical production in Czechoslovakia between 1968 and 1989. The aim is to explore various ways which the communist regime used to regulate or prevent the propagation of selected musical genres. The power of the totalitarian regime is shown in specific cases, such as censorship, preventing concerts, physical attacts during performances, arrests, artificial processes, media influence, nationwide actions against musicians or music bands, state institutions, etc. The work shoes how the communist regime avoided accepting any independent behavior in the society. At the same time, there are analyzed both articles in the media and state security reports, etc., and some texts reflecting political events in the particular period and current professional work on this topic. Use of Literary Artwork As a Way to Open the Topic of Unfreedom

The Bachelor thesis describes the preparation and realization of a project that happened as a two-day workshop of drama education for pupils of secondary school. This workshop was created on the basis of two books written by Peter Sís Tibet: Through the Red Box and Wall: Growing Up Behind the Iron Curtain, These books introduce topics : occupation and unfree life in a totalitarian regime. The first part describes the literary artworks and possibilities of their use in proces of dramatic education. The following part is describing a report about the bachelor project that was run two times . In the final chapter you can see a lesson scenario of the two days workshop. In attachment there are the materials that were used during the workshop, structures of lessons and written reflections of the participants.
