Augustus - Napoleon - Mussolini - Hitler

The aim of this thesis is to acquaint the reader with historical parallels between the reigns of princeps Augustus, Napoleon Bonaparte, Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler. The thesis is also focused on the propaganda and self-presentation of these politicians and on the inspiration of the Roman state in modern history. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the lives of all the mentioned personalities, their rise to power and to the main political acts and procedures they used during their reigns. The cultural development of states under the reigns of these politicians is also mentioned here. An important element that is present throughout the work is Augustus's reference to later political and cultural history, on which princeps' reign had a significant influence. Subsequently, based on the studied sources and literature, the thesis includes the comparation of individual reigns, looks for similarities and differences, evaluates whether it is a conscious use of August's political acts. The main objective of this thesis is to present whether August's legacy was used intentionally in later history and his political practices become inspiration for future generations, or whether it is more of a coincidence. Influence of Italian fascism on Peronism in Argentina

The bachelor thesis deals with the influences of Italian fascism on Peronism in Argentina. First of all, attention is paid to the theoretical concept, in an effort to define the ambiguous notion of fascism as precisely as possible. The work focuses on the overview of several scientific approaches and theories on this phenomenon, the characteristic features and the practical functioning of the fascist regime in Italy during the inter-war period. The problem of misinterpretation and misuse of this term is also examined. Further attention is paid to Argentina between 1946-1955, the period of Peron's presidency, which is still a very polemical part of Argentinean history. The thesis tries to analyze the functioning of Peronism, its historical context, and some characteristic features. In the following, the thesis focuses on the comparison of the two regimes, Mussolini's fascist Italy (1922-1943) and Perón's Argentina (1946-1955), on the basis of predetermined criteria such as: the leadership, the relationship of regimes to democracy, economic policy and the relation of regimes to elites. Bachelor thesis "Benito Mussolini's Fascist Regime in Italy between the two World Wars: from the Onset when Duce Came to Power to the Consolidation of Italian Fascism" describes fascist regime from its beginning after World War 1 until Italy's entry into the war in 1940. This period is important not only for Italy itself, their own fascist past is still perceived as a very sensitive topic, but also for the world since Italy became one of the first states where the fascists seized power. The thesis examines the causes and events that have helped the emergence of the fascist movement in Italy, with the emphasis on personality of Benito Mussolini, leader of the movement. This thesis follows his leaving from the Socialist Party, the establishment of the Fascist movement in 1919, becoming prime minister in 1922, taking control of all power in Italy, and suppressing the opposition. The thesis describes the fascist doctrine and the gradual transformation from an authoritarian regime to a totalitarian. It also deals with foreign policy, especially the second half of 1930s, when Italy performed the territorial expansion and became close partner of Nazi Germany.
The cult of Benito Mussolini in Contemporary Italian Society

The main aim of this thesis is to evaluate the cult of Mussolini's personality from the beginning till nowadays. The first three chapters present an overview of the life of Benito Mussolini. The objective is to capture the most important milestones in his life, to bring closer his personality, which was one of the factors that involved the formation of the cult of the Duce, and outline the developement of Mussolini's ideology. The fourth chapter deals with the main causes of the formation of the cult and the tactics of it's consolidation. Afterwards the attention is paid to the cult of Mussolini in contemporary Italy. This chapter is replenished with a number of particular examples, there are also summed up the reasons of the revival of this cult. The sixth and at the same time the last chapter analyze the developement of the Italian extreme right with an emphasis on contemporary neo-fascist tendencies.
