Container Construction - Identification Cost and Time Savings
Tejgi, Michal
Construction from containers can be more efficient than construction from conventional building materials in a number of suitable applications. From an investor’s point of view, the cost and speed of construction are important parameters, while from the societal point of view, it is environmentally friendly since it recycles original shipping containers. The core of this article is a case study of container construction of a primary school in Slovakia. The case study presents life cycle costs which are compared and contrasted with conventional construction. The aim is to compare investment construction costs. Finally, the results are compared with international studies on the topic of the life cycle of modular container buildings, project investment and renewability of this type of construction.
Design of a Re-Modular Hexagonal Construction Unit
Halászová, Ivana ; Grazianová, Maria ; Kozlovská, Mária
Modular construction is an innovative approach that is gaining popularity in response to the increasing demand for sustainable building solutions. This article introduces a modular hexagonal construction developed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Košice. The contribution presents the genesis of its development, based on the analysis of modular construction and the synthesis of knowledge required for the design and development of a specific modular structure concept. The article highlights the potential for various solutions depending on the purpose of the modular construction. In this context, it contributes to the advancement of sustainable architecture in the pursuit of achieving environmentally friendly building solutions.
Floating Robot KAMBoat II
Beneš, Jiří ; Žalud, Luděk (referee) ; Kopečný, Lukáš (advisor)
Objective of this thesis is to design and create second generation of KAMboat type robotic ship. Main tasks are to test abilities and performance of the ship alone and in comparison with the previous model. This thesis is divided into subparts which compare the differences between the two prototypes. First chapter focuses on analyzing selected parts of ship’s physical model, especially the hydrodynamics, which is then used to define construction limits. Following chapters KAMboat 1 and Construction analysis describe the first version of ship and reasons of making new version. Chapter KAMboat 2 refines the theoretical knowledge gained in previous chapter into tangible form. Chapter Electronics describes selected electronic equipment of the ship and mounted circuitry. The Control chapter is focused on combining theoretical and practical aspects of driving a small BLDC engine. Controls and Communications chapter describes how to secure and maintain data flow between operator and the robot. Chapter Missions is selection of tasks that are supported on KAMboat 2 type robotic ship.
House on half
Bartíková, Michaela ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor) ; Utíkalová, Ivana (advisor)
The goal of this work was to create a social housing using steel beam construction modules from KOMA company. Specifically two-storey apartments for young people from orphanage. The estate contained three buildings. The largest one on the northern side consist of seven apartments, cellars, garages and social-therapeutic hall. Middle object served as a coffee shop on the first above-ground floor and office with manager’s flat on second floor. On the east side are four mezonet apartments. Three of them are part of a joint compact object and the last mezonet is connects to the coffee shop.
Life cycle of modular construction
Rumanová, Beáta ; Mikulík, Michal (referee) ; Aigel, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is devoted to the analysis of the life cycle of a modular construction. It describes the specific features of modularity, its technology and market situation and characterizes other key topics important for understanding the issue. It applies this knowledge in the analytical part, where it compares the costs of the life cycle with the traditional construction approach on the selected object.
Modular Detached House
Julinová, Patricie ; Šibal, Jan (referee) ; Králová, Zuzana (advisor)
The aim of my thesis was to create a detached house on the slope with a flat roof. The object is made from modern innovative technology steel frame modules. Detached house has a partial basement. Basement is from the bricks and serves as the main entrance to the building. In the first floor are located only residential spaces.
