Kúdela, Jakub ; Matuštík, Ondřej (advisor) ; Šperková, Lucie (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Cloud solutions and their deployment" introduces topic of cloud computing as a significant trend to provide services over the Internet without using internal infrastructure or other resources. The first part of thesis defines term of cloud computing and introduces basic principles. As a phenomenon of today's IT world, cloud can offer many advantages to businesses and provide them with significant competitive advantage. Even in this new technology, however, exist obstacles and some challenges may occur that businesses need to take into consideration. It is possible to distinguish different service models and deployment models that are presented in the thesis.. The aim of this thesis is to present a comprehensive look at the topic of cloud computing and subsequently provide a practical, real-world use case of deploying cloud on a company. In the practical part of thesis is presented a company with its existing architecture, which is interested in leveraging cloud solutions. The paper describes the core business of the company, its goals, the current state of architecture and requirements placed on the transition. There are some questions raised in the company such as selection of a vendor, on-premise vs. cloud solution, security and selecting the right service models. End of the thesis is devoted to a brief presentation of concrete solutions that ensure a transition to the cloud in the company.
Cloud computing: The analysis of possible solutions
Bednář, Josef ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Šedivá, Zuzana (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis on "Cloud computing: The analysis of possible solutions " is primarily a technical presentation of the current phenomenon of cloud computing, then assembled with the comparising scenario assessment of the performance of applications 365 Office and Google Apps, and to evaluate its suitability for the deployment in mid-sized companies. To fulfill the above objective work, I gave the first study of the entire cloud issue - its definition, methods of securing and study of legislative frameworks and standards that relate to the cloud issue. After studying theoretical perspective on the cloud, I focused on software products 365 Office and Google Apps. To final section, a comparison of selected applications, I came up with study materials and the creation of test scenarios. In the first part of the thesis I focus on the description of cloud computing from the perspective of the individual models, which are put into operation. The following section describes the cloud security, the benefits which it can deliver to company and on the other side, where they can see the downside. Another framework is legislation, as it directly af-fects the security and establishes rules to be observed. In the optimal state legislation pro-vides safeguards and protects both providers and users. Right in work is therefore given the diversity of law, affecting cloud computing in different countries and also on what to watch out for contracting with providers. The second part presents the characteristics of products, Office 365 and Google Apps, then describes the introduction and implementation of the configuration of individu-al products, which are the necessary steps for the mutual comparison. The very creation of the comparison of 365 Office product and Google Apps prod-uct was made by mine in advance proposed test scenario. In the final part is the result of a comprehensive evaluation and comparison accord-ing to established criteria and their weights is chosen recommended more suitable product. Thesis highlights the importance of understanding the cloud, among other because of careful choice of model of cloud, and also choice of a provider. The outcome of the test scenarios work gives an overview of the functionality and product reviews 365 Office and Google Apps. Based on the comparison of results and supporting information for each product, I recommend the more appropriate one. The work is not only beneficial for those interested in understanding the cloud, but also for companies contemplating about the de-ployment model Software and services to their business.
