Ensuring availability and security in industrial networks
Zatloukal, Zdeněk ; Fujdiak, Radek (referee) ; Holasová, Eva (advisor)
Currently, a key aspect of industrial automation is ensuring a high level of security, reliability, and data availability in industrial communication networks. Given the rising cyber threats, it is essential to develop and implement advanced strategies for protecting industrial infrastructures. This thesis aims to perform a comprehensive analysis and development of security solutions for industrial networks, focusing on the Modbus RTU/TCP and MQTT communication protocols, which are crucial for the effective management of modern industrial operations. The work employs methodological approaches that combine theoretical research with practical experiments. It includes an analysis of existing protocols, the design of communication security through these protocols, and their subsequent testing in a controlled industrial environment to verify security, efficiency, and reliability. The analysis revealed significant deficiencies in the security of existing systems and led to the integration of new security measures into the industrial switchgear, which significantly improved the protection of data and communication infrastructure. The implemented solutions demonstrate significant progress in protecting industrial networks against various types of attacks. This thesis represents a significant contribution to the field of industrial network security. The results of the work provide valuable information for the further development of security technologies in the industry and offer practical guides for engineers and technicians who are working on improving the security status of industrial systems.
Design of LED lighting for industrial camera systems
Svoboda, Martin ; Honec, Peter (referee) ; Janáková, Ilona (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the development, design and construction of multispectral lighting for industrial camera systems. The lighting is conceived as a modular device consisting of two parts - a control unit, which can be communicated primarily through the Modbus TCP / IP protocol, which powers, controls and collects information about the connected lighting unit. The illumination unit is equipped with 64 intelligent RGBW light emitting diodes located in an 8x8 matrix and one control diode opposite to which light intensity sensors are placed to give feedback on the color and intensity of the light. There are two temperature sensors located between the LEDs to check the temperature of the lighting unit. Both units are housed in a robust aluminum chassis. The control unit contains a microcomputer programmed in C language
Strip thickness measurement device
Vitoslavský, Ondřej ; Petyovský, Petr (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deals with the design of software capable of operating individual components of measuring equipment and acquaintance with these components. These components are analog-digital converter AD7175-2, digital-analog converter DAC8563 and LCD BC- 1602A-YPLEH. It also deals with communication via the Modbus with superior PLC, which has the ability to read data from the measuring device and control the device to a certain extent.
Application for Support of Calibration of a Piston Pipette
Vospěl, Bohumír ; Stružka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
This thesis occupies itself with the partial automation of the workflow for calibration of piston pipettes. It analyses the possibilities of the use of the current laboratory gauges, and focuses particularly on the connecting of these devices with a personal computer and their remote control. It also enables the exportation of the measured values into Microsoft Excel application and suggests a complete solution of these problems.
Converter between Modbus-RTU and Modbus-TCP Protocols
Pitko, Erik ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (advisor)
The main objective of this work is to inform the reader of the communication protocols Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU and create an embedded device based on the microprocessor STM32 capable of conversion between Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP protocols. The device should be capable of simple first run configuration with simple user interface.
Module of Digital Inputs with Modbus Communication
Nožka, Tomáš ; Štohl, Radek (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis deals with the basic specification of Modbus protocol and its use for communication between the remote digital inputs device module and device that uses information obtained from remote inputs. The thesis proposal is to further describe hardware and software for the module. Processor i8051 series provides the function of the whole procedure. Unit acts as a slave device. Communication with the remote device is done via serial interface (RS-485 and RS-232) using one of two modes of communication either Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII. Primarily information on the status of digital inputs are being provided to the remote devices. The work also includes information about some professional modules of inputs and outputs communicating via Modbus protocol.
Modbus WiFi for pyrometer communication in a foundry
Moravčík, Adam ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Slavíček, Karel (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the design of a method for connecting a pyrometer communicating via the MODBUS RTU interface to a WiFi network in the environment of the Brno foundry. The first part is devoted to the MODBUS protocol, its structure, principles, and possibilities of connection to the TCP / IP network, which is also used in WiFi. The second part is focused on an overview of available single-board computers and microcontrollers suitable for the implementation of the design. The third part deals with the hardware design of the device which realizes the connection of the pyrometer to the WiFi network. It describes the meaning of individual parts and the way of their interconnection. The fourth part deals with the software design of the program. It describes the individual blocks of the program and their function. The fifth part deals with testing the device using the simulation programs "Modbus Pool" and "Modbus Slave".
