Metal at the time of normalization and the first years of the 90s and its response in the print media
Hemelík, Adam ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Cebe, Jan (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the image of the musical genre metal in selected Czech print media in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The thesis also includes chapters dealing with the history and characteristics of metal and the (sub)culture around it in the Czech Republic from the early 1980s to the early 1990s.
Study of bioaccessibility and oxidative potential of elements using simulated lung fluids
Šidla, Jiří ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Cigánková,, Hana (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the determination of the bioaccessible concentration and oxidative potential of an urban aerosol using 3 simulated lung fluids. Submicron fraction (PM1; urban aerosol particles with aerodynamic diameter less than 1 m) was collected in two campaigns (summer, winter). The mass concentration of PM1 was determined gravimetrically and total concentrations of selected metals were determined by ICP-MS. Next, extraction of the sampled filters into 3 simulated lung fluids (Gamble's solution – GS, Simulated alveoli fluid – SAF, and Curosurf) was performed. The extracts were used to determine the bioaccessibility of each metal by ICP-MS and to determine the oxidative potential. Oxidative potential of standard solutions of selected metals and real aerosol samples was also studied using 3 simulated lung fluids. The highest total concentration in PM1 was measured for Fe. The bioaccessibility of most of the studied metals was higher in Curosurf than in GS and SAF. Although the bioaccessibility of most metals was higher in the summer campaign than in the winter campaign, higher values of OP were measured in the winter campaign. OP was higher for extracted PM in Curosurf than in SAF. A study of relationships between measured variables was also conducted using correlations. This work provides a closer look at the effects of inhaled metals contained in urban atmospheric aerosol on human health. The inclusion of Curosurf among the SLFs analysed is also beneficial, as it is a substance used in hospitals for the treatment of respiratory distress syndrome in children.
Recycling
Mrázek, Mikuláš ; Morys, Oldřich (referee) ; Korbička, Pavel (advisor)
The intention of the bachelor thesis is mainly to highlight the surplus of materials and the overwhelming of the planet with waste, the possibilities of recycling solid materials such as metal and remelting them into other objects. Working not only with the material but also with the people inside the scrap metal is essential. Creating a social contact with the workers and working together to transform the waste into sculptural works and create a video is essential for the bachelor thesis.
Furniture in symbiosis with plants
Paterová, Eva ; Landa Filípková, Valentýna (referee) ; Tobola, Ondřej (advisor)
The master‘s thesis deals with the design of furniture that serves to connect interiors with nature, especially with plants. At a time when many of us spend most of our time indoors, there is a growing desire to incorporate nature into our homes and workspaces. This thesis analyses historical and contemporary trends in the design of furniture intended for plants and highlights the possibilities for their further development. The aim is to identify and overcome the existing shortcomings in current solutions and, based on this analysis, to propose an innovative prototype that better meets the current needs and aesthetic preferences of users.
Hardness testing of metallic materials
Dufková, Hana ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to define and describe the hardness of material, possibilities of its testing, including the history and development of individual tests of hardness. The practical part of this work consists of the application of some of these tests on selected samples, including the evaluation of the results.
Rendering Performance Comparison in iOS and Metal
Pištělák, Radek ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Tóth, Michal (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is the comparison of the OpenGL ES and Metal graphical libraries on the iOS platform. To compare the performance of the two libraries, a particle system has been implemented. By profiling it has been determined that using instanced rendering it is currently possible to achieve higher performance using OpenGL ES. Based on the results and the theoretical part of the thesis it is possible to make a more informed decision between the two graphical libraries.
Pearl Ústí nad Orlicí
Hyťhová, Martina ; Kyselka,, Mojmír (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor)
Main task of the diploma project is design of conversion strategy and revitalization of former textile factory PERLA 01 in Ústí nad Orlicí. The construction program consist conversion of existing building to cafébar, assembly hall, office space, shoping hall, bistro and craftsman´s workrooms. New building is infocentrum, gallery, textilmania, entrance hall of assembly hall, cycling shop, library reserve space and club centrum. The project design new square and public space.
Sports and cultural centre, Otradov
Myška, Jan ; Nováková, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the preparation of project documentation for the implementation of new sports and cultural centre Otradov. The dominant feature of the complex objects stands and multipurpose hall. The building is architecturally designed with an effort to fit in too much of rural architecture. Multipurpose hall has two floors, one third roofed flat roof, two-thirds of the roof ridge. The core system is aerated concrete blocks. The building is two-storey grandstand with the carrier deck. Roofing is solved by means of broken wooden beams. Sanitary facilities is dealt wall system and roofed shed roof. Athletics track, the surface of the polyurethane mixture designed for sports.
Comparison of production possibilities gears plastic and metal
Květoun, Jan ; Žák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This project is focused on comparison technologies of making cogwheels from plastic and metal. Inside are described principles, descriptions of technologies and appropriate usage or advantages and disadvantages. Mentioned technologies of making metal gears are primarily machining for example milling, slotting or grinding. Making of plastic gears is primarily focused on injection moulding. Practical part of this thesis is focused on exchange metal cogwheel with plastic cogwheel with helping calculations and information from resources. Exchanged cogwheel is from motorcycle ČZ 175/453.
