Map Creation Application from OpenStreetMap Project Data
Latta, Martin ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Novotný, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of application that allows you to create maps from OpenStreetMap project data and change their appearance. The work contains an introduction to cartography, information about OpenStreeMap project and rendering library Mapnik. The main focus of the text is a description of the design and implementation of the application itself, including the final testing and evaluation.
Map Creation Environment using OpenStreetMap Project Data
Opletal, Petr ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Novotný, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of environment for creating maps using OpenStreetMap vector data. The final application allows to change appearance of maps and to import data from external sources (e.g. own tracks). The text contains a theoretical introduction, the information about the OpenStreetMap project and the information about the Google My Tracks application. Further, this text deals with the application design, implementation and testing. The conclusion summarizes achieved results and suggests some proposals how to extend the application.
Interactive Tool for Creation of More-or-Less Blind Maps
Balazy, Petr ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to implement a web application for creating more-or-less blind maps from OpenStreetMap data. The Mapnik toolkit, which is designed for creating maps and map tiles, was used in the implementation. Several rounds of testing were conducted during the implementation, after which the application was patched, modified and improved. The created application allows the user to select an area, select map elements and their properties, download the map in the selected data format and size.
Own OSM Map Generator Appliance - Online
Fabčinová, Dominika ; Novotný, Tomáš (referee) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (advisor)
Thesis analyzes steps of creating maps from OpenStreetMap data. It examines tools, that can be used to perform those steps, evaluates them and their variations with the goal of choosing one suitable to be used in implementation. Then it implements the entire proposed solution using the selected tools from obtaining the data, through rendering map images, to serving them to end users. The procedure is documented thoroughly. It shows how to insert your own layers to the map, in this case counour lines and walking trails and how to search for routes.
Interactive Tool for Creation of More-or-Less Blind Maps
Duda, Jakub ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis researches the problematics of generation of more or less blind maps. This term refers to maps that do not contain all the elements that are commonly found on classic maps but contain only a subset of elements that are of interest for a particular use of the map. The aim of this thesis is to create a tool for generating such maps, which allows the user to select which elements should the map contain. The tool is implemented in Python, in the form of a web application using the framework Flask. The tool can generate completely blind maps that are focused on a certain area and a certain type of landscape elements, more or less blind maps with the use of predefined templates or more or less blind maps with the use of style set created by the user that defines which elements the map consists of and how these elements are rendered on the map. The tool also offers the user a possibility of adding their own tracks to the map by importing GPX files. The tool is mainly focused on generating maps with the purpose of printing.
