Track's Elevation Profile View on a Public GIS

This bachelor's thesis describes the design and implementation of a user script for GreaseMonkey (plug-in for Firefox). This script adds a functionality to show height profile of a defined route. The route is defined using public GIS tools from www.mapy.cz. The script extracts coordinates from page DOM structure, processes it and draws a height graph. The graph is created using http://www.heywhatsthat.com/profiler.html [2] or www.profile.hy.cz, which provides height graph drawing using www.vyskopis.cz JavaScript API [4].

Inventory of woody plants in part area of Červený vrch in Prague and elaboration of the digital map of this selected area

This bachelor thesis is dealing with practical inventory of part of the housing estate Červený vrch in the city district Prague 6. It uses inventory methods according to Machovec (1982). For each of the tree species the precise species determination has been carried out, dendrometric data were measured, landscape value of trees were assessed and its exact location was entered into digital map in AutoCAD.
The literature search initially covers the history of gardens and garden styles. More specifically it deals with the history of the oldest garden styles, medieval gardens and the current form of gardens. Next chapter discusses the use of woody plants in landscape creation according to terms of their classification and assortment. It is followed by an analysis of the importance of urban greenery and various types of urban greenery.
Bachelor thesis contains a brief analysis of the natural characteristics of the target area.
In the second half of this thesis there are complete inventory tables and their detailed graphical analysis.
Strengths and weaknesses of the used method of inventorying are listed in the discussion in comparison with the alternative method of classification of woody vegetation elements according to Pejchal (2008).
The obtained digital map together with the inventory tables and photo documentation are placed on mapserver.

Map server visualizing the Albertov campus Abstract The basic aim of this work is to create an interactive web application which enables to display several map layers of the Albertov campus and its surroundings. The application will be providing information about university buildings and it will be created with Open Source tools MapServer and OpenLayers. In the first part the work deals with digital internet maps, web map services and with architecture of map servers. Mapserver for a Municipal Internet Presentation

This bachelor thesis deals with the process of design and implementation of universal web-based map portal for small up to middle sized municipalities based on open-source software. It evaluates the present state of existing municipal map presentations and describes the process of implementation and tests on exemplar town Stará Turá. The work creates the basic form of map presentation, which contains real data for this town.
