Hydrological drought in 2022: Case study of the Lužnice River and Bouřlivec River Basins
Hajný, Vojtěch ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Burian, Alois (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on evaluating the issue of hydrological drought on Lužnice River and Bouřlivec River Basins in 2022. The first part of the thesis is focused on solving the topic of drought, its classification and causes. The next part of the work deals with a general assessment of the hydrological drought in Europe in 2022, its impacts in specific countries and the indicators used to measure it. The practical part is a key part, dealing with the evaluation of hydrological drought in the areas of interest in 2022 using the threshold level concept, deficit volumes and drought indices. The analysis is carried out on the basis of the provided flow data from the Pilař and Bechyně profiles in Lužnice River and Lahošť and Duchcov in the Bouřlivec basin. Based on the resulting values, the year 2022 is compared with previous years and placed in the context of long-term drought observation. The results show that the drought in 2022 was severe but not very ignificant in the long-term monitoring. In terms of the number of dry days and insufficient volumes, the hydrological drought in the Bouřlivec basin was more pronounced than in Lužnice River, where it was accompanied by lower flows. Key words: hydrological drought, Lužnice River, Bouřlivec River
Influence of groundwater on hydrologic drought in the Lužnice River floodplain
Korejs, Tomáš ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Janský, Bohumír (referee)
The object of this thesis is to evaluate influence of groundwater on the period of hydrological drought in the Lužnice river floodplain, focusing on interaction between surface water and groudwater. Floodplain of the Lužnice is unique fluvial ecosystem characterized it's diversity and natural value. Especially upper stream of Lužnice represents river floodplain river and creater good conditions for water retention. Main first part of this thesis is focused on work with literature about issue interaction between surface water and groundwater in the river floodplain with examples from Czech republic and the world, including the characteristics the groundwater Work with literature is also focused at characterizing the types of drought, it's cause and consequences. The second part evaluates the basic characteristics of runoff and hydrological drought on the Lužnice. This analysis is based on statistical evaluation of longtime data series from Pilař and Bechyně stations. Both profiles are compared to identify correlations.
Development of fluvial lakes in the Lužnice River floodplain
Hastíková, Petra ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
The object of the thesis is to evaluate the development of several chosen fluvial lakes in the basin of the river Lužnice, mainly in the section between the border with Austria and Suchdol nad Lužnicí. The river Lužnice in this particular section represents low intensity of modification. Many fluvial lakes are situated there and the river is meandering remarkably in the area. The first part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of the natural conditions in the basin of Lužnice and the defined floodplain and the problematics of lakes and their determination. The main part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of the flow development and fluvial lakes of the Lužnice floodplain based on the data of a aerosnapshoting. Because of the gradual decease of the meanders and straightening of the flows, it is possible to claim that the river has been considerably shortened with the passing time. In the thesis, 34 chosen fluvial lakes, that were measured morphometrically and batymetrically, were studied in detail.
The spread of invasive neophytes in the riparian vegetation of the Lužnice River
Eliášová, Kateřina ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Hrdina, Aleš (referee)
This thesis studies the spread of invasive neophytes along the South Bohemian Lužnice River. The literature search deals with plant invasions, floodplains and the area of interest. The riparian vegetation along the Lužnice River was mapped with emphasis on 17 taxons of invasive neophytes. The mapping was realized in four sections that were 3-5 km long. The results are compared with the state ascertained by monitoring in the same location in 2008. The results indicate a general increase of invasions and an intensive spread of Impatiens parviflora since the previous mapping. Generally widespread invasive taxa in the studied area are Impatiens parviflora and Impatiens glandulifera of the herbaceous plants. The occurence of Robinia pseudacacia of the woody plants is also common. Other observed taxa occur only locally or in smaller amounts. Keywords: IAS, riparian vegetation, plant invasion, vegetation mapping, watercourse, vegetation change

MLNAŘÍKOVÁ BINTEROVÁ, Helena
Fauna of Local Flowing and Stagnant Waters from the Point of View of Regional Natural Science Taught at the Primary School in Suchdol nad Lužnicí (South Bohemia). Bachelor thesis. University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, České Budějovice, 60 p. This work focuses on the use of local waters in teaching natural history at the second level of the Primary School in Suchdol nad Lužnicí. The educational program here allows teachers to create their own school curriculum and include in it the subject matter that is related to their surroundings. The work is focused on textbook analysis, on a quick faunistic survey, and on a route proposal for a teaching in terrain. The results could serve as a material for the route design for a possible natural science walk. At the same time, it provides a brief overview of aquatic animals that are found in local waters around the school.
Causation of develpment change of selected fluvial lakes of Lužnice River in profile Základna
Jaček, Matouš ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate developement of selected lakes in area Základna in upper Lužnice basin. The area of interest is located in nature reservation Horní Lužnice, which extends from state border with Austria to Suchdol nad Lužnicí. This part of the river is very preserved almost without any anthropogenic influence. Eventhough it is the middle part of the river, it has developed floodplain with meandering belt, which is typical for lower parts of rivers. Because of its conditions, this area is very convenient for observing natural spills and studying fluvial lakes, which occure here in huge amount. First part of this work describes characteristic of the study area, fluvial lakes and natural spills and floods in the area. The main second part focuses on research of selected lakes and their developement. During several field researches the lakes were mapped and measured and soil samples were taken from the lake beds. Furthermore flow in floodplain during river spill was measured and data from automatic surface level sensors were evaluated, which show mutual connections of fluctuations of the lakes and the river. In conclusion the results of measurement were compared with previous theses regarding this area. Main results are that common spills cause clogging of lakes but intense floods...
Hydronymical Map of the Luznice River Basin
HAVRDA, Michal
The main goal of our thesis is a lexicographic processing of names of watercourses in the Upper Lužnice (Ober Lainsitz) river basin. Due to its location on the borders of Czech and German speaking territories and gaps in Czech methodological approaches our thesis is based on sophisticated theories of German hydronomastics that reflect common etymological roots of European water names as well as of the Slovak ones that strive for modern international processing of hydronyms complying with uniformed, obligatory methodology of the lexicographic project Hydronymia Europaea. Water names that were excerpted mainly from archival and contemporary maps have undertaken semantic classification invented by V. Šmilauer and M. Frydrich regardless of the source language. Along with the verification of suitability of the foreign methodology adopted for Czech hydronyms the thesis makes partial advice on its innovation that could help make the using of the lexicon more user friendly.
