Monuments of Czech medieval kings and queens
KOLÁTOROVÁ, Adéla
The topic of the diploma thesis is the monuments of the Czech Přemyslid and Luxembourg medieval monarchs and their wives. First, I focus on clarifying the basic concepts that relate to the issue. The following are theoretical knowledge about modern monuments and their functions. The analytical part of the work deals with the characterization of two acquired sets of monuments - Czech and foreign. It deals with the number of these monuments, the circumstances of their origin (or extinction), as well as which rulers depict the monuments, what their artistic design is and what they provoke or provoked controversy. The work concludes with a comparison with the monuments of the Piast dynasty in Poland and the Arpad dynasty in Hungary. The aim of this work will be to map the monuments dedicated to the Czech Přemyslid and Luxembourg monarchs and their wives in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The Sovereign Confirmations of Chartres for Bohemian and Silesian Towns to 1420
Velička, Tomáš ; Hlaváček, Ivan (advisor) ; Pátková, Hana (referee) ; Ryantová, Marie (referee)
The present work deals with confirmations that have issued Bohemian kings and princes of Silesia to Bohemian or Silesian towns. The work is divided into five parts. The first deals with existing exploration and methodological inspiration that I subsequently used. The second chapter summarizes the findings regarding the process of confirmation documents - from motives of its release, through the process of the documents in the office during the procedure, to handing over the finished instrument beneficiaries and paying taxes. Then I deal with the various types of confirmations and also I discuss separately the observational charters. The third part is devoted confirmations for the Bohemian towns with regard to all documents which the royal towns received, published by Bohemian kings. The problems are discussed from the perspective of publishers and recipients, as well as the documents themselves (their content, form). The same shall apply also in the case of the fourth chapter, which deals with the same aspects of the Silesian towns and confirmations, which they were received. The final chapter summarizes the findings, which I reached on the previous pages. An important part of this thesis is a variety of reports and graphs to better perceive the immediate context and development trends. I also deal with...
The Trade Contacts of Prague Burghers at the Turn of the 14th and 15th Century
Musílek, Martin
The presented text explores the trade contacts between Prague and Bern, and other cities of the Swiss confederation. Precious metal was chiefly exported from the Czech Lands to the Swiss cantons and Swabia, whether in the form of minted silver coins or raw precious metal. Trade was mediated through Nuremberg merchants. The concrete case of several Prague burghers-merchants exemplifies their status in the city, their financial backgrounds, and the mercantile and monetary contacts that were often linked up with foreign commerce houses, the ruling court milieu or the credit possibilities of the Prague Jews. Although during the Hussite Wars (1419–1434), trade with the heretical Bohemia was restricted, the Imperial and Papal trade embargo was frequently bypassed. In the course of the Hussite Wars, a new wave of exportation of Bohemian art objects abroad took place in connection with the emigration of Catholics, where these objects were either sold or deposited by the refugees “for better times”. Thus, the exportation of Bohemian art abroad did not cease even during the Hussite Wars.

Šťastný, Antonín ; Doležalová, Eva (advisor) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (referee)
The Bachelor's thesis "Historical festivities in towns and their historical themes taken from the Premyslid and Luxembourg period." This study describes the phenomenon of historical festivities in towns of Central Europe. Its aim is to highlight the historical themes of the festivities, e.g. the events being celebrated, and their association with today's festivities. The work describes the development and changes which the festivities went through and the present-day influences on their appearance and the trends of their further changes. Beside the list of major festivals and their mutual comparison, the study focuses on their performers, on the storylines of the celebrations and on the response of the audience.
