Processing and Visualization of Diagnostic Data from a Bionic Upper Limb Prosthesis
Control possibilities of myoelectric upper limb prostheses
Chalupa, Daniel ; Sadovský, Petr (referee) ; Smital, Lukáš (advisor)
The purpose of this work is to propose an algorithm to differentiate fingers and patterns in electromyographic signal for further use in upper limb prosthetics control. Testing and analysis of proposed method is included.
On the kinematics of legged robots
Hrubý, Tomáš ; Kopečný, Lukáš (referee) ; Burian, František (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of kinematics of walking robots. It is aimed at introducing the problems of mobile robots and the concepts of solving locomotion and stability of robots with different numbers of limbs. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the mathematical principles leading to the description of the limbs of robots and to the description of their motion. These principles are then applied to the specific case of a six-legged walking robot. The description of the limbs with respect to the coordinates and the servomotor setup is resolved. Then the forward motion of the robot is modeled and the result is shown in the simulation.

Antero-posterior polarization of body appendages in vertebrates
Smlsal, Dan ; Soukup, Vladimír (advisor) ; Krylov, Vladimír (referee)
Body appendages of vertebrates are structures developing during embryonal stages through lateral outgrowth from main body axis. Despite their different composition and high diversity, all these structures are organised along three main axes. Antero-posterior polarization is the most significant in body appendage differentiation. These polarized differentiation changes are best understood in the limbs, where they are controlled by the organizing centre named zone of polarizing activity (ZPA). This centre interacts with another centre named apical ectodermal ridge (AER), which mainly governs limb outgrowth laterally from the body axis. ZPA produces Sonic hedgehog (Shh), along with other signalling molecules participating in the polarization. Shh is a key part of highly conserved signalling pathway common to polarized structures and is influenced by retinoic acid (RA), which plays role in the ZPA creation. ZPA activity stimulates secretion of fibroblast growth factors (Fgf) and bone morphogenic proteins (Bmp). All these signalling pathways ensure correct differentiation of appendages through interaction and concentration-dependent mechanisms. The goal of this thesis is to introduce the mechanisms of polarization in other appendages, such as external genitalia and branchial arch derivates to the reader,...
Farriery and its importance for the use of horses
Valentová, Kateřina ; Neumann, Cyril (advisor) ; Janošíková, Martina (referee)
This work focuses on a farriery from the beginning of its history , through Middle Ages and Modern Era until present day. From barefoot horses through hipposandals through to nailed horseshoes toward modern specialities such as plastic "glued on" horseshoes and footwear. Mentions the anatomy of the horse hoof. The knowledge of anatomical structures and functionality of a hoof is crucial for horseshoeing and for barefoot walk as well. The ancient farriers were aware of this and merely thanks to their knowledge of anatomy and physiology of limbs they were able to cure most of the diseases of horse hoof at that time. Today these skills are just as important for chosing the right shoeing as well as customizing the conventional horse shoe to a particular horse. Further deals with the characteristics and materials used for production of horseshoes , their different types and tools used by farriers. Care of hoof is essential ,the regular care and especially the treatment before shoeing - (often neglected) which makes it far easier for the farrier. The main point of the work is farriery acts including corect selection of horseshoes and their shaping. I also mention pros and cons of horseshoeing. The most extensive chapter addresses horseshoeing of horses for different utilization, racing horses working at high speeds , draft horses for labour or horses for tourism. I focus on horseshoeing based on utilization and performance of the horse. The integral part of this work is a chapter condemning horseshoeing as such, stating different opinions from so-called barefooters presenting us with the other point of view Finally, points to the alternative ways of horseshoeing and their pros and cons.
