Czechoslovak antifascist resistance in Culture of Memory in 1945-1948 in regional context. The Case of Kolín Region.

(in English) This thesis deals with the aspect of culture which reminds us of the second revolt in the years 1945 to 1948 which focussed on the region of Kolínsko. The region featured a scene of Czech antifascist resistance which was of national importace. Likewise there had been important attempts to organize a resistance movement locally. Studies show that contemporary press and archival sources were monitored using implanted memory (memorials, monuments, commemorating the anniversary in a public space, activity clubs) in the early postwar years. It contains an analysis of content, symbolism and langure resources in the contemporary press and archival sources. The work focuses on the question whether, after the coup in 1948, there was a semantic shift the perception of antifascist resistance, and whether the memorial culture in local context became a subject of political disputes.

Periodical press in Kolin region during the period 1945-1948

The bachelor thesis Periodical Press in the Kolín Region during the period 1945-1948 focuses on the changes of the structure of periodical press in the Kolín region after the Second World War. The first part of the thesis describes the geographic and demographic characteristics of the Kolín region, which helps to create a complex picture of the Kolín region in the first half of the twentieth century. In the second part, the thesis describes the periodical press in the Kolín region before 1945. The Kolín region had already been rich in periodical press in the second half of nineteenth century. In the period of the First Republic, the most significant part of the press structure was the press of political parties, second to that, were the periodicals of non-political organizations such as Sokol or tourists. During the Second Republic and especially during the Second World War the gradual cessation of regional press resulted in the complete destruction of its structure. In the third part of the thesis, the situation in the Kolín region after Second World War is described. The press of the left wing political parties was renewed and the press of non-political organizations stayed, however due to the lack of paper, never recovered. Evaluation of economic and social development in the selected regions

The presented master thesis evaluates an economical and social development of Kutná Hora and Kolín districs that are located in an eastern and a southeastern part of the Central Bohemia region and that are sharing a common administrative border. The thesis is based on a review of a literature about basic terms used in the area of a regional development and a regional polity, policy and politics. In an analytical part of the thesis there is an evaluation of a development of selected socio-economical factors, measured in between years 2005 until 2014. The analysis is based on a data from regional and state official statistics. In the next part of the thesis there is presented a field survey that was done simultaneously in both districs and together with a previous analysis it served as a basis for a SWOT analysis for both districts. Based on a data from all parts of the thesis there are presented suggestions and recommendations for further development of both analysed districts.

Potential of less known attractions of region Kolínsko for tourism development

Bachelor thesis is focused on less known natural and historical attractions in the region Kolínsko and on their potential in tourism development. The theoretical part concerns theoretical starting points and analysis of tourism in Central Bohemian Region. It focuses mainly on the definition of the tourism and the characteristic of Central Bohemian Region and region Kolínsko. The practical part presents an overview of natural and historical attractions and analyzes selected attractions in terms of their current use and further potential. One of the elements of this part is processing of the research. The aim is to assess the potential of selected attractions and to come up with concept for their involvement in tourism. This thesis should make readers acquainted with the current state of attractions in region Kolínsko and broaden the awareness about the issue and new attraction involvement in tourism of region Kolínsko.
