The plant - habitat diversity relationship in the Křivoklátsko PLA
Nováková, Zuzana ; Chuman, Tomáš (advisor) ; Romportl, Dušan (referee)
The term biodiversity means biological diversity at different levels - from genetic diversity, species diversity to ecosystem diversity. The distribution of plant diversity on Earth is not uniform and it is influenced by various factors. In my thesis I emphasize physical-geographic factors, which include climate, soil and topography. Next I assess the influence of environmental heterogeneity, ecological phenomenons, biotic factors and disturbances. I also assess biodiversity gradients, which include altitude and latitude gradient and size and remoteness of habitats. Another part is focused on the plant-habitat diversity relationship because this relation will be researched in the second part of my thesis. Křivoklátsko PLA was chosen as a model area for its specificity, interest and high species and habitat diversity. The aim of my thesis is to determine the species-habitat diversity relationship in the selected area. Key words: plant diversity, habitat diversity, Křivoklátsko PLA
Relative pollen productivity estimates of main tree taxa of Central Europe in model area Křivoklátsko.
Fořtová, Pavlína ; Abraham, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Roleček, Jan (referee)
Pollen spectra found in sediments enable the research of quantitative changes in vegetation composition in the past. The fact is conditioned upon assumption of unchangeable linear relationship between abundance of pollen and the vegetation that is responsible for its production. Calibration of this relationship is experimentally performed on modern pollen samples and current vegetation. Relative pollen produktivity etimates (PPEs) represents basic parameters for the conversion of proportional pollen data into the vegetational ones. Their knowledge is indispensible for the quantitative vegetation restoration and for the simulating of the processes of pollen dispersion and deposition. PPEs estimation is performed by ERV model which corrects nonlinear relationship of proportional pollen and vegetation data back to the linear relationship. ERV model estimates PPEs values together with values of pollen background by maximum likelihood method. Knowledge of PPEs of main tree species is crucial for the understanding of processes which takes place on the level of landscape scale. Model area of Křivoklátsko was selected due to its high forest coverage and tree diversity. Twenty-four localities were chosen upon stratified random selection. Moss polsters containing modern pollen loading were taken and detailed...

The Janus-faced Landscape. Representing the landscape of Rakovnik and Krivoklat in publications of the Rakovnik's Museum Society.
Uhlířová, Tereza ; Šima, Karel (advisor) ; Randák, Jan (referee)
In my Diploma Thesis, I deal with the way how the Rakovnik's Museum Society represented the landscape of Rakovnik and Krivoklat in their bulletins and in other regional publications in the early 20th century. It is a cultural-political analysis of the authors' manner of interpreting the Regions of Rakovnik and Krivoklat as a unified, specific, distinctive, mythmaking region, etc. in their texts, which means how its borders are defined, what elements are considered as the landscape features, how the literary- folkloric image of the region is created, the ways the land could be useful for human and which famous people are connected with this region. The emphasis is also placed on the question whether, and possibly, how the authors' position is reflected in the region's image. I deal with the research issues in connection with the concept of "the landscape as a story" or "the landscape memoirs", i.e. with a constructivist approach to the region, whose constitution is always culturally and socially conditioned. The influence of topography and geology on the functional plant diversity in the Křivoklátsko PLA
Radoměřský, Tomáš ; Chuman, Tomáš (advisor) ; Romportl, Dušan (referee)
Geological evolution resulted in continual changes of the natural environment. These changes are occuring even today and will take place in the future as well. The present form of nature is the result of conflicting effects of endogenous and exogenous processes. The natural environment is increasingly disturbed and transformed by human activities. The final appearance of the landscape has a decisive influence on the distribution of vegetation. In my work I deal with the influence of topography on the distribution of plant functional types. First I summarize in short the paleogeographic evolution of the Křivoklátsko and the near neighborhood from the time of Upper Proterozoic to the present. Further I describe individual physiogeographic factors and theirs influenceon the distribution and diversity of plants. These include geological substrate, topography, soil, climate and disturbance. Shortly after that I characterize the geology, geomorphology, soils, hydrologyand vegetation of the Křivoklátsko PLA. Later I describe ways of expressing the diversity of plantswith accent on the diversity of functional types. My research is based on the analysis of functional diversity of plants and evaluation of the relationship of individual functional vegetation types and the topography. Results of the work...
Monitoring of water quality in protected area Křivoklátsko
Koudelová, Jana ; Benešová, Libuše (advisor) ; Matějíček, Luboš (referee)
Nowadays, nature is constantly being polluted by anthropogenic activities. All components of the environment should be therefore monitored, including water quality. This paper focuses on surface waters in the Protected Area Křivoklátsko. The main purpose of monitoring is to obtain information about the current state of watercourses compared to the previous period and to determine the degree of purity in accordance with relevant standards. The theoretical part describes the basic information about the site that was the source of the water samples and also a brief history of the water quality assessment in the Czech Republic and worldwide is included. The practical part describes the basic characteristics of the given parameters and their practical determination. This is followed by the evaluation of the measurement results that is arranged in tables according to the legislation (CSN 75 7221). The paper concludes with the evaluation of results of quality monitoring and with comparing the current situation to the previous reporting period at each sampling point. Key words: water quality, chemical composition of water, Křivoklátsko
The First Land Reform on the Estate Křivoklát
Kaucká, Kristýna ; Kubů, Eduard (advisor) ; Jančík, Drahomír (referee)
The Master's thesis aims to describe the time during the period of the first republic in the area of Křivoklátsko, concerning the land reform from the historiographic point of view, the mechanism of land reform, and its institutional and legal specification. The thesis outlines the atmosphere in the newly established Czechoslovak Republic and its relations to the former aristocracy. Moreover, it focuses on defending mechanisms of the aristocrats at that time, and it analyses the function of the Federation of the Czechoslovak landowners together with the Federation of the German landowners with help of the specific example of the aristocratic family of the Fürstenbergs, who were the last private owners of the Křivoklát castle. The paper deals with the land reform in relation to the land fond, mine properties, shareholding within the Buštěhrad railway, and real estates. It endeavours to map emerging remaining small estates in the Křivoklát estate, and determine the social status of the new owners. The land reform in Křivoklátsko raised suspicion of corruption among the Communist politicians, the evidence of which is given in the thesis through the articles from The Red Right newspapers, interpellation to the government, and the booklet called 'Hidden Křivoklátsko'. In connection to this, highly...
Effect of coniferous monoculture plantation on plant species dversity
Němeček, Jakub ; Vojta, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Douda, Jan (referee)
A structure and a function of a monoculture woodland is diferent from the natural woodland condition. This is an influence of a herb layer diversity. The change of the herb layer are mainly distinguishable in the case of tree coniferous monoculture. They are the poorest at all of them viewpoint diverzity. The diversity of the woodland was analysed with an insuffiently consequence. This study get the knowledge about the species composition and the diversity of these monoculture. At the same time get the knowlege about next factores, which change diversity and species composition of stand. As a confirmation of this, coniferous monoculture are numerously and species-compositionally diferent from broadleave monoculture. And more, coniferous trees change the enviroment's condition and the whole biotopes. There are not depend any species of the herb layer at the coniferous monoculture on this studied site of Křivoklátsko.
The Life of an Aristocrat on Noble Residence in the 19th Century, on the Example of Fürstenberg
Kaucká, Kristýna ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Horčička, Václav (referee)
1 Abstract The Bachelor's thesis deals with the way of life of the Austrian empire aristocracy in the 19th century, namely the Fürstenbergs of the Křivoklát-Lány lineage. It focuses on the important moments in lives of the aristocrats (marriage policy within the Austrian upper classes, family preservation strategies etc.). In the time of great social changes and weakening of the traditional roles of the aristocrats, choosing partners only within the members of aristocracy seemed to be an appropriate solution, how to maintain the existence of this social elite even in the future. The thesis also analyses the circumstances concerning the reconstruction of the castle Křivoklát after the fire in 1826, during which the specialists started to play increasingly more significant role. The context of the contemporary trends and different opinions on architecture are also taken into consideration. Another important part of this work is the issue of nationality, which is closely connected with the role of German aristocracy within the ethnically tensed society of the 19th century. One of the objectives is to describe social changes after 1848 as well. To be more specific, the change in authorities-subjects relationships resulted in enormous amount of money in the hands of the nobility, later using this capital for...
Population density of the red deer (Cervus elaphus) and forest damage in Křivoklát region (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic)
Faifr, Michal ; Červený, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Mrkvičková Kořanová, Diana (referee)
The aim of this study was to determine the population density of deer in the area Křivoklátsko. To detect a population density was used counting dung piles. The work is also characteristic of the whole monitored area, and the deer (Cervus elaphus), which Krivoklatsko abundant. This work also discussed the various census followed by a focus on the method of counting dung piles. Furthermore, it evaluates the incidence not only of deer in forests and damages, as well as the presence of sika deer (Cervus nippon), roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), wild boar (Sus scrofa) and fallow deer (Dama dama) and damage them caused. In this study also highlighted the amount of catch deer in both areas, compared with known population density of deer. In the discussion we discussed the pros and cons of methods of counting dung piles and accuracy of results.
