Title of the diploma thesis: Possibilities of Using ICF and WHODAS 2.0 Questionnaire in Patients with Upper Limb Movement Disorders from an Occupational Therapist's Perspective Abstract of the diploma thesis: This thesis deals with the issue in subjects with upper limb mobility disorders, specifically with central hemiparesis, from the perspective of an occupational therapist. Objective functional assessment will be carried out using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), and subjective assessment will be carried out using the WHODAS 2.0 questionnaire, WHO Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0. This thesis focuses on subjects with upper limb mobility disorders. All subjects will have the same basic diagnosis, which is right or left central hemiparesis, and should be no more than 3-4 years after a stroke, over 18 years of age, with no upper age limit, or subjects after traumatic brain injury (TBI). The practical part will include patients with a disability level ranging from 1-3, they must not have plegia or contracture, they must be without aphatic deficit and severe cognitive deficit - mild cognitive impairment may be present, but the ability to understand...

Functional assessment of activities and participations according to the ICF in patients with central hemiparesis.
Marková, Kateřina ; Sládková, Petra (advisor) ; Angerová, Yvona (referee)
THESIS ABSTRACT Name, surame: Bc. Kateřina Marková Thesis supervisor: MUDr. Bc. Petra Sládková, Ph. D. Title of thesis: Functional assesment of activities and participations according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health in patients with central hemiparesis Abstract: Functional independence and social integration, which are the domains of occupational therapy, are essential for the successful rehabilitation of patients. The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health can provide a suitable framework for functional assessment, not only for occupational therapists. The main aim of this thesis is a determination of the functional picture of selected patients with central hemiparesis. The secondary objectives encompass firstly a verification of pre- established hypotheses, and secondly, an evaluation of the influence of the Day Hospital of the General University Hospital in Prague on the functional abilities of patients with central hemiparesis. Primary research methods comprise in particular a quantitative data analysis and comparison; however, a qualitative analysis of texts or description are also utilized. The research retrospectively evaluates the results of the assessment of activities and participation and environmental factors in patients with...

This thesis contains of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes variety of causes of vertebral algic syndrome, basic information about epidemiology, etiology and time duration. Options of physiotherapy approaches which were used for patients chosen for this thesis are also described. Furthermore, the thesis uses the characteristic of the ICF and describes the Brief ICF Core Set for Low Back Pain, including the ratings of validity of this Core Set by two chosen studies. The practical part offers an overview of methodology of this thesis, in particular the data collection methods, patient selection, goals and assumptions of this thesis. It also contains case reports of three chosen patients inluding the Brief...

Occupational initial examination from the perspective of International Classification of Functioning. Disability and Health
Hamplová, Pavla ; Svěcená, Kateřina (advisor) ; Sládková, Petra (referee)
The focus of this Bachelor's dissertation is International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and its applicability to occupational therapy initial examination. This dissertation is divided into sections: theoretical and practical. Basic terminology as well as the ICF framework, goals, philosophy, development and the overview of its components can be found in theoretical section. Moreover, it describes the links between rehabilitation, occupational therapy and the ICF. The end of the theoretical part gives information about occupational therapy examination. Practical section explores possible use of the ICF in occupational therapy initial examination. The main goal of practical part is to create an occupational therapy initial examination form based on the ICF and to apply it on patients. This form ought to be practically used by The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague and General University Hospital in Prague.

Practical application of ICF
SVĚCENÁ, Kateřina
The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is a tool that could help improve the coordination between health and social services. This classification will help with communication as a common language in interprofessional rehabilitation team. The research objective of our thesis is to investigate the practical applicability of ICF in health and social services in the field of regulations governing entitlement to "special aids", i.e. Act No. 329/2011 and Decree No. 388/2011, as amended.
Physiotherapy in the eyes of the general public
ZACHOVÁ, Pavla
This bachelor degree thesis offers an analysis of the views of the lay public, i.e., non-medical persons, about physiotherapy. Physiotherapy forms a part of the complex process of rehabilitation, and plays an important role in preventive, diagnostic and medical care. This thesis consists of two sections: theory and practical. The theory section deals with the history of physiotherapy, complex rehabilitation and the International Classification of Functioning, Disabilities and Health. The chapter entitled Physiotherapy explains the aims of this field, the training of physiotherapists and the scope of their work, as well as the diagnostic and therapeutic tools used. This chapter also includes a code of ethics, a list of professional associations, a code of standards for physiotherapists, and possibilities of payments for the provided physiotherapeutic services. The final chapter of the theory section gives the definition of the words ?massage? and ?massage therapist?. The practical section aims to find out the level of knowledge the general public has about the meaning of the word ?physiotherapy? and its associated expressions, the physiotherapist training system, the uses to which physiotherapy and spa care could be applied, and the role physiotherapy plays in the Czech health system. My survey took the form of a quantitative research, and the data were collected from responses given in the questionnaires. Target groups were people from the regions of Vysočina and South Bohemia. They were classified into four age groups. The questionnaire consisted of 22 questions and the collected results were processed using the occurrence analysis method, and also displayed graphically. The survey proved that the general public needs to be better informed about the field of physiotherapy and physiotherapy treatment conditions. For this reason, an informative brochure containing all necessary information for the non-medical section of the population has been issued. This bachelor degree thesis can be used as learning material for current and former students of physiotherapy, as well as by other medical and non-medical professionals. It also encourages us to think about how to raise the image of physiotherapy both amongst the general public and healthcare specialists.
POSSIBILITIES OF USING THE INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION OF FUNCTIONING, DISABILITY AND HEALTH IN PHYSIOTHERAPY
DRÁBOVÁ, Zuzana
At present, when an international communication across health systems is quite common, there is a growing need to establish a common language which could be used for an expert´s communications from different countries and disciplines. A uniform language for encoding a wide range of information is provided by classifications that belong to a Family of International Classifications of World Health Organization (WHO-FIC). International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) was officially approved in 2001 and it forms and a conceptual framework for describing the disability. In the Czech Republic the Communication No. 431/2009 Coll. came into effect from 1 July 2010; it introduces ICF classification into a clinical practice. The physiotherapy is a part of the comprehensive rehabilitation system and people with the disability form a target group of patients for this field of specialization. We use many specific methods to examine motion systems and all his parts, the most of them are subjective. Still, we must find a way how to code the information obtained during the examination under a single scheme and the universal language given by ICF. This thesis demonstrate an importance of ICF classification and it could be a suggestion how to use the classification for an evaluation of the patient´s functional status by selected examination methods in an everyday practice of physiotherapists.
