The diploma thesis deals with the future smart district at Špitálka in Brno - Zábrdovice. The smart district will serve as a pilot territory to verify the goal setting from the vision for the #brno2050 strategy. One of the main motives is the activation of the territory by means of relevant interventions, which can start the development not only of this area, but can also have a positive impact on the entire locality. The aim of the diploma thesis is to contribute to the preparations for the revitalization of the city district and to outline possible alternatives for the phasing of development, the method of activating the territory and temporary use during the realization process. Further contribute to the discussion about cooperation public sector with private, community planning in our environment and the possibility of alternative project financing. The proposed tactics correspond to the local significance, are based on current values and lead to a sustainable urbanization process of an evolving urban environment. The work is analytically based on the current criteria of the urban environment generated by the investments of capitalist society. The proposal focuses on areas related to performative planning or an experimental form of so-called bottom-up planning and supports the principles of Smart City.

The factory premises of the former factory OP Prostějov is the challenge for the future generations how to appraise today unused buildings which were build in 1950's. My design is counting with formation of new part of town, which disposes with centralizing the town-hall administration in one place allowing simple moving between individual authorities. Next there is designed the habitation as the small flats for old people and also big flats with interesting view. In some buildings there is designed the business incubator and in other building there is even the school. There are all facilities, services and leisure activities provided in the area. The Museum of Industrial Heritage is located in the middle of all events. It has three parts - exhibition, auditorium and deposit with administration. The old heating plant nearby is used as library and médiatheque with archives in connection with the museum. Shops, restaurants and other services are placed around.
Urban study of development area Vítkovice - Moravská Ostrava
Fišerová, Anna ; Klement, Miloš (referee) ; Sátora, Josef (advisor)
'The inspiration behind this project is the new urbanist idea which combines residential development with green spaces for leisure and sport as well as mixed use commercial areas and storage. The layout of the area is a grid formed by 100m squared plots with residential houses with personal yards. These plots are grouped as complexes and between each complex is a communal green space. On the outside of the inner grid, there are mixed use apartment buildings and a high commercial floor. The square is dominated by a smaller multi-purpose building with a fluid outside space in which community events can be organized. Diagonally connected to the square is a park with a playground and an area with patio seating in addition to three villa houses. The park leads to the river embankment, into which tiered seating will be created. Around the hotel, there is another park with a multi-generational playground. In the northern part is located hotel renovated from the original industrial buildings with added ground floor restaurant area. Around hotel there is a park with green space and multi-generational playground. The terrace houses are located in the northeastern part of the complex and feature an attractive riverside view. Row houses line the the main road and are buffered from street noise by a line of trees. Typology and placement of other, separate houses is inspired by colonies of worker-houses eg. Baťa houses in Zlín. In between each ground these is no fence and are only separated a slight depression in the green.

Changing in Place Identity of Two Working-Class Neighbourhoods in Kladno since the mid-20th Century: Podprůhon & Nové Kladno
Čermák, Adam ; Chromý, Pavel (advisor) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (referee)
The thesis focuses on the place identity of two working-class neighbourhoods in Kladno since the mid-20th century. It describes the historical development of all neighbourhoods in Kladno, but it analyses Podprůhon and Nové Kladno as prototypical examples. Although the two are close to each other, they have developed differently: Nové Kladno was transformed into a housing estate; Pod- průhon was left to its natural, gradual development. An essential part is a qualitative and quantita- tive research. It studies the people's relationship to both localities, the first impression of them, and whether the conclusions differ according to the respondents' ages. It exploits interviews with resi- dents and questionnaire survey with non-residents. The results are put in context with plans and artistic works, allowing for a detailed description of the identity of both localities. Nové Kladno has lost its identity due to its transformation and has not yet built a new one, while Podprůhon has re- tained its identity despite becoming an excluded locality in the 1980s. As there are many neigh- bourhoods with similar developments in Czechia since the mid-20th century, the interpretations from this thesis can be generalised as case studies of the industrial heritage transformations not only in Kladno. Ekonomický potenciál industriálního dědictví Plzeňska
Boudová, Petra
Many aspects of urban design and new approaches to preserving industrial sites are based on the concept of liveability. These approaches recognise that design and structure can be very influential in the life of these areas but they also create novel contexts for a local community to develop in a more sustainable way. The purpose of this contribution is to highlight opportunities in the field of adaptive reuse of industrial heritage, examples of adaptive reuses of industrial architecture in Plzen and their potentials for the future development as creative incubators are discussed.
