Network traffic and cyber attacks generator on the FPGA platform
Heriban, Radoslav ; Smékal, David (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the most common and every day more popular threat of DoS attacks. All networks are vulnerable to this kind of attack, and with growing popularity and intensity it shouldn't be underestimated. The goal of this thesis was creating hardware accelerated generator of DoS traffic intented for testing our own networks and identifying the risks. FPGA technology is used for this task, since it has proven to be more effective way of prototyping hardware design then developing ASIC. The language used to describe desired design behavior is VHDL. Designed ICMP and UDP flood attacks are simulated in Xilinx ISE development environment. Description of problems faced before any result was reached is also included for future researchers interested in similar projects.
Longest Prefix Match Algorithms
Suchodol, Jaroslav ; Puš, Viktor (referee) ; Tobola, Jiří (advisor)
This work deal with routing in IP networks, particularly the issue of finding the longest matched prefix. Problems of finding the longest matched prefix solves many sophisticated algorithms. The main task of this work focuses on the following algorithms - Controlled Prefix Expansion, Lulea Compressed Tries, Binary search on intervals and Binary search on prefix length. Algorithms are described and followed by software implementation in Python. Output work is the analysis/comparison of different algorithms in terms of memory consumption and number of memory accesses at worst.
Analysis of geolocation databases
Zima, Štefan ; Červenka, Vladimír (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on collecting data from commercial geolocation databases and its analysis. The theoretical part discusses techniques of IP geolocation, briefly describes commercial geolocation databases and mechanisms for accessing their geolocation services. The practical part of this thesis involves implementation of scripts for collecting and modification data retrieved from commercial geolocation databases for further analysis. First script collects the data and store them in output files in specified format. Second script modifies gathered data to achieve better accuracy. Detailed analysis is performed afterwards. Analysis is performed at several levels. This includes country, region and city accuracy as well as accuracy on latitude and longitude parameters. Output of this analysis will be conclusive, and will also display accuracy of tested geolocation services. The aim of this thesis is to analyze currently available commercial geolocation services and to prove their accuracy. Used scripts are implemented in Python programming language in version 3 using modules urllib, re and json. Scripts are test on commodity hardware with Linux operating system.
Longest Prefix Match Algorithms
Skačan, Martin ; Puš, Viktor (referee) ; Tobola, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the algorithms for longest prefix match (LPM), which is the basic operation of the packet classification and of the routing in the IP computer networks. It is introduced the necessary theory and the analysis of the chosen algorithms - Trie, Tree Bitmap, Shape Shifting Tree and Multi-match. These methods were closely described and they were implemented in the programming language Python. Within the implemented algorithms were performed tests and simulations considering their memory demands with the aim to identify the best method for prefix collections about the size of tens to thousands rules.
Videoconference System for Distance Learning
Regueyra, Philip ; Szőcs, Juraj (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The aim of my diploma thesis is to introduce the problematic of today’s videoconference system and to compare the existing solutions. First chapters of my work are dedicated to a description of the theory of the conference system. Furthermore there is described the application Skype and application WebEx. These are the projects that are the nearest to the submission of this work. On the basis of the acquired information, the thesis is dealing with the creation of my own solution of video conference system. In the third chapter there are described all the used technologies needed for the realization of the project. The thesis is then dealing with the creation of own client on the platform Silverlight. This client is working on the components that play the multimedia content and on the service WCF RIA. After the part dedicated to a creation of the client, there are described the settings of services Windows Server 2008, on which the solution is realized. There are described the settings of services of web server, services of multimedia media, settings of SQL server and usage of program Windows Media Encoder. The last part is dedicated to a testing and plotting of the functionality of created video conference system. In the conclusion of the work there are evaluated the results of the work and described possible directions, where the development of the client of video conference could proceed.
Proposal of Computer Network Security in a Small Software Company
Špičák, Jan ; Kastner, Miloš (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is concerned with the analysis of the current conditions of computer network security and its optimalization in a small software company. The thesis presents solutions how to improve the security of the computer network. The solutions are supposed to prevent the computer network from the Internet attacks and thus avoid losing important data and information.
TCP/IP Layer for FPGA
Kekely, Michal ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Kajan, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of network communication using network protocols TCP and IP in hardware. Goal of this thesis is to design and implement unit capable of this sort of network communication using aforementioned protocols in FPGA and also to test and verify it. Outcome should give hardware devices, which don't have access to suitable software, the opportunity to communicate using computer networks.
Network traffic analysis on FPGA network card
Crháková, Marie ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (referee) ; Smékal, David (advisor)
Bachelor thesis contains description of ISO/OSI and TCP/IP, then is focused on packet headers of the protocols IP, TCP and UDP. After that is analysed the FPGA from the company Xilinx with network interface card from Netcope Technologies and their functions defined by Firmware Developer´s Manual. Finally the studied informations was used for create the program for counting packets, that was simulated and synthesized for field programmable gate array through Vivado.
Technologies for Quality of Service Assurance in IP Networks and their mutual Cooperation
Oujezský, Václav ; Skořepa, Michal (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This barchelor thesis deals with complex description of technologies and particular ways providing quality services in IP networks. It is especially oriented on architecture of IntServ and DiffServ and their possible ways of mutual cooperation. In practical part, the testing of architectures mentioned is made and their characteristics in network emulator program GNS3.
Analysis of technologies for quality of services assurance in packet networks
Kulhány, Andrej ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focus on analysis of technologies for guaranted quality of services in packet network. In main part I devote to detailed study of technologies IntServ and DiffServ. Practical part of my bachelor thesis includes design of network in simulating program Openet Modeler. Designed network is pecialized to guarantee quality of services during voice transmission by technology DiffServ. When designing the network I simulated guarantee of services in network without quality of service and in network with quality of services technology DiffServ. Finaly I compared issues of simulations.
