ICT trends in the Far East (Japan and South Korea)

This thesis is focused on development of ICT trends in Asian countries, specifically Japan and South Korea. The first part focuses on the description of the economic situation and the state of ICT market in both countries. Using the analytical methods of professional articles, the second part describes the selected ICT trends, the outline of their possible future developments, government intervention and dominant companies with projects in the areas concerned. The selected trends are then compared with the developments in the US and Europe. Described key trends include cloud computing, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and a third platform.
ICT trends in China and Taiwan

This bachelor thesis deals with the actual trends in the area of information and communication technologies, focusing on Far East countries with emphasis on China and Taiwan. The theoretical foundation of this work is to provide an overview of the current situation in the ICT market and its subsectors in individual countries. The specifics of countries in relation to information technology are also briefly described. The second part focuses on the actual analysis of selected ICT trends in China and Taiwan and compares specific approach to them from different angles. In the last part of the thesis conclusions and results of the analysis from the second chapter are applied in comparison with the West, USA and EU specifically and examined trends are evaluated in the global context. The contribution of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the area of selected ICT trends in the countries concerned.
Vietnam ICT trends in the global and regional context

This thesis is focused on ICT market, its current situation analysis with Asia's countries, Vietnam as a focal point. The first part contains information about the current state of the Vietnamese economy. Following parts are dedicated to current ICT trends and comparison of the ICT market in Vietnam with trends around the world and neighbouring countries in the region. Main focus of this thesis is identification of key ICT trends and possibilities of their future development. The contribution of this paper is to evaluate current developments in the field of ICT trends in Vietnam.
ICT innovation in small and medium enterprises

This thesis focuses on the issue of ICT innovation in small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic. The first objective is an analysis of ICT innovations; the second one is a suggestion of criterions suitable for the mapping of ICT performance and the third objective is verification of these suggested criterions in the real enterprise which is DATASYS. Sub-steps that lead to fulfillment of specified main objectives are to clarify characteristic of ICT and related concepts, as well as explanation of BSC management tool and determination its advantages and disadvantages. The last steps in this section are an identification of key trends, the exploration of new ICT technologies and the mapping of the ICT current state in DATASYS. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first theoretical part illustrates the importance of ICT innovation followed by ICT definition and other related concepts. The third part is devoted to BSC management tool which measures the ICT performance. The last part is a survey of current ICT trends and new ICT technologies. The purpose of the theoretical part is the knowledge of related theory which is reflected in the practical part. The second part is practical and it focuses on the application of theoretical knowledge. First sub-part describes default state of the technology infrastructure in DATASYS. The purpose of the second sub-part is to create BSC concept. Previous theoretical part and default current state are reflected in this BSC concept. The third sub-part is focused on the mapping the ICT performance to identify weaknesses in the company by comparing suggested and real values. The theoretical part of this work is created from all the information and knowledge gainded from scientific literature and research articles. The practical part is formed from the acquired knowledge which is based on theoretical as well as specialized studies.
Challenges for CIO

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the chosen current trends of ICT. The CIO represents the crucial person of the whole thesis. The aim of the thesis is to describe and comment on the connection of the role of the CIO with trends and challenges he/she has to face in recent times. To fulfill this aim it is necessary to realize the current trends through the integration of surveys of the renowned companies dealing with the ICT market. The field overhang of these studies dedicated to technologies is essential. The benefit of the thesis consists of the connection of the business and ICT at the CIO level. The abstraction from technical specifications of the particular trend as well as from the managerial point of view creates an image of the challenges for the CIO in the company context. The introductory part of the thesis reflects the position of ICT in companies and creates an image of the internal connection of the company as a whole. The core of the main part of the thesis contains chapters dedicated to the trends in particular: data analysis, content analysis, social business, big data, ICT security and education. Each of these main chapters describes the current state of the ICT field and its role in the company context. The last part of each main chapter deals with the benefit and the role of the CIO for the mentioned field. CIO's influence on the challenge, allies and possible risks of the trend are mentioned. At the end of the thesis the benefit of the CIO for the company and his/her role of facing challenges which come from the ICT field are evaluated. CIO plays an important role as a responsible person for particular challenges. Nevertheless, as it is apparent from the thesis, the CIO is not the only important part of the system that is necessary to create the maximum from each challenge.
