This diploma thesis is focused on technical, behavioural and contextual competences of project managers defined by IPMA ICB 3 and its use by projcet managers in practice. Theoretical part describes project management, standards a methodics in the area of project management and competences of project managers defined by IPMA. The empirical part deals with analysis of the survey results. This analysis is focused on evaluating the use and necessity of competencies of project managers in practice.
Komparace standardů IPMA verze ICB 3 a ICB 4

This thesis deals with certification of project managers according to the ICB standard, which focuses on the competence of the project manager. The theoretical part introduces the historical development and approaches to project management, basic concepts in project management and widespread standards and certification in project management. The practical part is devoted to detailed description of the version 3 and 4 of the ICB standard. Subsequently comparison of both versions according to selected criteria and on the basis of this comparison are evaluated strengths and weaknesses of each version. The conclusion is formulated to benefit ICB 4 for the practice of project management and is designed to possibly form the structure of the standard.

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of standardization in the field of project management. The main theme of the thesis is the analysis of the competency model of IPMA ICB standards. The work is structured into two parts. In the first part a theoretical platform of the given issue is created. The second part consists of content analysis of ICB v.3 and ICB v. 4. Based on this analysis, a comparison of standards is created. These concepts are reflected in the draft of the new version of this standard ICB v. 4.1.

This diploma thesis contains comparison of IPMA standards' use among project managers from Chelyabinsk oblast in Russian Federation and South-Moravian region in Czech Republic. The work is divided into two parts by themes. The first part creates theoretical platform for understanding of this problematic. The second part is composed of questionnaires’ evaluation and further comparison, which were made by using statistic calculations and coefficients. Findings acquired through questionary assessment are described as follows and on their basis a recommendation for IPMA development is given.
Project manager as manager of the project team

The thesis topic is linking of knowledge from psychology and psychodiagnosis within project management. The thesis has several aims, which are all introduced in the first chapter. One of those aims is the introduction of contemporary ways, methods and standards used in project management. Another aim is equipping a project manager with knowledge from psychology and psychodiagnosis, which still constitute a comparatively neglected area of project management. What their utilization can actually do is to increase the efficiency and performance of project teams. The final aim is to come up with a solution to identified problems based on the conducted research. The second chapter of the thesis explains basic terms of project management, its standards and methodology, and duties of a project manager. The part devoted to psychology deals with personality, psychodiagnostic methods, team and motivation. The fourth chapter pursues the conduct and evaluation of research of contemporary project management. Finally, problems identified based on the findings from questionnaire survey are dealt with within the fifth chapter. It contains instructions for choice of appropriate way of project management, draft of the process of building a project team and a concept to achieve greater work satisfaction of team members.

Goal of this thesis is to provide a summary of information connected to cloud project management. The thesis describes, what cloud is, what types of cloud there are and also describes project management methodologies and their specifics. In the practical part of this thesis one of the methodologies is applied to a practical project. The thesis contains also a summary of practical information about cloud projects and risks associated with cloud projects.
Managing IT projects in practice and widely used methodologies

The objective of this diploma thesis is to design a proposal for managing projects in small and mid-sized companies that will be part of reference Model of Business Informatics MBI. MBI is a reference model for business IT, which is being developed by Department of Information Technologies at the University of Economics in Prague. MBI contains best practices in combination with theoretical background. The proposal includes prepared document templates ready to use in project management. This thesis also compares well-known and most widely used project management standards. The theoretical part is focused on the most widely used project management standards and methodologies. First chapter compares PMBOK, ICB and PRINCE2. This chapter is focused on the most important characteristics, used approaches and differences of these standards. Next chapter is closely focused on PRINCE2 described in terms of defined processes. In the practical part of this diploma thesis is a proposal for managing projects in small and mid-sized companies. The proposal takes the form of tables that matches the MBI model structure. This proposal is available on MBI website and is ready to use in practice. The theoretical part of this thesis is mainly based on the official publications and information from official websites of companies focused on project management. Practical part of this thesis is based on theoretical and practical experience. The usability of the results is evaluated in conclusion.
The Use of Project Management Methodologies for Implementation of Information Systems; their Comparison and Use in Practice

The diploma paper introduces and, consequently, compares the worldwide accepted project management standards PMBOK Guide and CzNCB and ASAP Methodology for Implementation. Project management standards were presented by PMI and IPMA organizations, ASAP Methodology for Implementation was developed by SAP organization. The theoretical background is further applied on real situations within projects of implementations of SAP solutions that are realized by the company NESS Czech s.r.o.. Possible difficulties, which may arise during every implementation of SAP solutions, are being identified due to knowledge and experience of project managers and solution architects of NESS Czech s.r.o., not only during each phase of ASAP Methodology for Implementation but also during pre-implementation project phase. After settling the role and responsibilities of the supplier's project manager, the solutions how to avoid and/or react on possible difficulties, in charge of supplier's project manager, are being indicated.
Project management: Data center migration

This thesis is trying to review project methodologies which could be used for a data center migration project. The aim of this work is to choose a project methodology for the migration project, based on the methodologies' description. On selected area of project management will be shown the differences between the most suitable methodologies and a practical example of the chosen methodology will be prepared.
