Olahová, Kateřina ; Trávníčková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Sladký, Pavel (referee)
This thesis aims at description and analyses of the position of diplomatic immunities and human rights in international law, focusing on areas where these two sets of international rules clash. One objective of this work is an attempt to establish a hierarchy between norms granting diplomatic immunities and those protecting fundamental human rights, which could possibly resolve the collision. This solution, however, narrows down to one of most general principles of diplomatic relations, the principal of reciprocity. Mentioned are also some alternative approaches suggested for resolution of this conflict together with the obstacles, which prevent them from use. The thesis further looks at possible remedies against abuse of diplomatic immunity.

Šichová, Petra ; Lehmannová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Šabacká, Yvona (referee)
The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the conception of human rights in Islamic culture and to examine its influence on international relations. The essential method used to complete the analysis is a comparison of conceptions of human rights in western culture and in Islamic culture. This comparison is based on the most important documents involving human rights. Particular examination of different conceptions is posted in the case study of Pakistan based on Sharia and of secular Turkey. The thesis examines the hypothesis based on opinion, that the states practicing Sharia are not able to follow all the human rights as involved in the western conception of United Nations. Thus, position of those states in international relations is not as good as in case of the secular ones. Anyway, while analyzing various sources and factors, the hypothesis was found not as well-founded as it was supposed to be.

The diploma work follows two main goals:1) analysis of human rights from Islamic perspective, namely by its confrontation with prevalent universal model of human rights and 2) comparison of the status of Muslim woman in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The thesis is logically divided into four consequential parts. First two chapters introduce to theoretical issues of human rights and Islamic religion, the two other pivotal parts are concentrated on the above mentioned set goals. The objectivity of the thesis should be ensured by using various foreign-language sources of information from which studies and reports of international organizations such as United Nations, Human Rights Watch or Amnesty International form a considerable part.
The institution of ombudsman in the czech legislation
Jelínková, Miroslava ; Mates, Pavel (advisor) ; Kuba, Jaroslav (referee)
We can consider the institution of ombudsman to be one of the traditional institutions of most democratic countries. The position of the ombudsman in the constitutional law system and his relation to other governmental authorities is relatively independent. The ombudsman is here primarily to help citizens who do not have any legal background and can be easily lost in the complicated system of governmental authorities. The Czech Parliament passed Act Number 349/1999 of the Law Collection, the Ombudsman Act, in 1999. The adoption of this act signified the implementation of another institute of law to the Czech legal system which should guarantee the abidance of human rights.
