The effect of increased neck muscle tension on tinnitus
Zlesáková, Adéla ; Oplatková, Lenka (advisor) ; Babková, Lenka (referee)
This research bachelor thesis deals with the problem of cervicogenic somatosensory tinnitus with a focus on the effect of increased tension of the neck muscles. The theoretical part provides a brief anatomical description of the studied area in the context of the changes that occur there and lead to the development of tinnitus. It then elaborates on the diagnostic procedures and finally on the possibilities of intervention, which are within the competence of the physiotherapist. The practical part consists of case studies of two patients. The knowledge from the theoretical part was used to construct the examination and therapy that was then applied to these patients in order to verify the effect of manual therapy in tinnitus patients. A Visual Analogue Scale, the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory questionnaire and a goniometric examination assessing cervical spine range of motion were used for objectification. Patients' condition was assessed before and after the 10 week long therapy. The aim of the therapy was to relieve hypertonus in the neck region and subsequently reduce the intensity of tinnitus.
Design of Therapeutic Laser for Veterinary Medicine
Hájková, Karolína ; Jelenčík, Branislav (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is design of high-power therapeutic laser for veterinary purposes. The thesis focuses on the design of laser device that will suit to a wide range of patients and also diverse environment where it is used. Emphasis is particularly placed on ergonomics which is often overlooked on existing devices of this type. An important aspect of this thesis is also appropriate choice of materials, colours and shaping to match the veterinary apparatus and the environment of use. Master thesis is based on the selection of many relevant sources, on practice observation and on consultations with users and specialists. The newly developed product will find its application in veterinary clinics and workplaces focusing on animal physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Evaluating the effect of interventions in children with Developmental coordination disorder; Systemic Review
Alabed, Maie ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
Aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of intervention improving the children's performance diagnosed with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). Additionally, this study finds the optimal therapeutic intervention selection for treating DCD symptoms. Methodology A systematic review of potential literature was performed following PRISMA guidelines. A comprehensive electronic search across PubMed, Embase, Science Direct, and Google Scholar from January 2010 to October 2022 was performed among children with DCD. We assessed the standard mean difference of intervention within and between the studies. The quality assessment of randomized and non-randomized control trials is performed using the Cochrane risk of bias assessment and the Newcastle-Ottawa scale respectively. Results This review includes 19 potential studies involving 553 children with DCD. The most frequently reported experimental interventions were trampoline therapy, Wii-fit training, task- oriented training, virtual reality training, motor imaginary therapy, active video games (AVG), and cognitive orientation occupation performance (CO-OP). This study found that children in the experimental group had a higher level of improvement than those in the comparator or control group. Conclusion Body function and activity-oriented...
Possibilities of spa treatment in patients with Bechterew's disease
HOŘEJŠÍ, Petr

Slatinné lázně Třeboň s.r.o. was selected to find out all the possibilities of spa treatment and a more detailed description of individual procedures, in which the research part was performed. The theoretical part describes the anatomical structures, kinesiology of the axial system, knowledge about Bechterew's disease, definition of the disease, clinical symptoms, examination and diagnosis itself. Subsequently, all treatment options for patients with Bechterew's disease are listed. The research part contains the description and effects of all spa procedures that are prescribed to patients with Bechterew's disease. There are also case reports of specific patients with the above mentioned disease and their course of physiotherapy.
