Freight Forwarding The content of this thesis is a treatise on the issue of freight forwarding contract conclusion as well as on the topic of freight forwarding in general, namely in the context of Czech laws together with the laws of Germany and Austria. The thesis is divided into five chapters, whereas the author emphasizes, besides the comparison of the current and the previous legislations the clarification of basic terms of the law of transport and conceives the text as an elementary insight into an often overlooked issue. Demonstrated on the historical context, outlined in chapter two of the thesis, is the rather dynamic evolution of the branch as well as the set back of its promising beginnings in our countries caused by the installment of the totalitarian regime in the late 40s of the last century. Prevailing in the following legislative excursion, contained in the third chapter, is beside the aforementioned comparison, a pure analysis of the rights and obligations of the forwarding contract parties, means of their securing as well as of the alternative liability regimes, when included is also a brief description of the related types of contracts and the model transport documents used in the freight forwarding business branch. This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the Ukrainian forwarding market and business activities of a specific forwarding company operating at the market. It is essentially important to understand the current state of economy as well as its specific sectors to make a proper business decision. Another point is evaluation of a specified company's position at the market and an ability to solve current problems and find new opportunities for further growth.

Innovation of information system in rail freight transport in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with innovations in freight transport, especially from the perspective of information and communication technologies. It identifies key strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats in an implementation of innovations. Its main contribution is the linking of current informatics trends with specific trends of the rail freight sector in the Czech Republic in relation to the regulation and harmonization of the European Union. One of the important objectives of today's enterprise informatics is support of the strategic management. Based on the test the validity of the working hypothesis, according to which companies in the rail freight don't use strategic management tools enough, it makes recommendations for innovation in the sector. The thesis also briefly presents some innovative applications of Czech IT developers. It is a comprehensive material from which the Chief information officer (CIO) can get basic orientation in the rail freight sector. It may also serve as an inspiration for companies that want to enter the market, or are already operating on it and want to achieve competitive advantage through innovation.

Road and railway transport infrastructure in the Czech Republic

The thesis focuses on transport infrastructure in the Czech republic. Its aiming at road, railway and combined infrastucture.It analyzes its current situation and short historical development. There is analysis focused on the density of infrastructure in european conditions and national regions in Czech Rep. Further, it analyzes the transport overload on chosen roads. Sugested solution is to move the road freigth to railway through combined transportation. Cost savings coming from lower reconstruction costs are calculated as well. In the end, there is proposal about implementation of combined transport in the region as a regional logistic center.

Conditions conduct of road freight transport in the Czech Republic

The main aim of this thesis was to provide a comparison of conditions for the provision of public transport services with a focus on road freight transport. For a comparison of it was necessary to study the legislation about road freight transport and comparison of its development. The important was to get the information by structured interviews with managers of selected companies and applying the questionnaire for drivers of road vehicles. Great contribution to this work was cooperation with the transport companies Doprava a spedice ČZ a. s. and CN CARGO s. r. o.

The transportation of products of company Hesta spol. s r.o.

This Master's thesis deals with analysis of transportation in the company Hesta spol. s r.o. with headquarters in the town Prešov. The thesis is consisting of three parts, theoreticly-methodological, analytical and proposal. The theoretical part comprises primer ABC's to the problematics of transportation and logistics, relevance of transportation within needs satisfaction and methodology of expenses calculation in road freight. The analytical part of the thesis deals with following analysis: analysis of the company Hesta spol. s r.o., its car pool and the processing of placed orders, toll analysis, analysis of transportation costs and analysis of applicable distrubutional routes. Closing proposal part arising from the results of previous parts of the thesis brings possible suggestions in optimization and increasing efficiency of company's transportation.

Rail transport in the United States

This Master Thesis focuses on the American railroads as a whole. It describes the evolution of the railroads and the on-going transformation of its importance in comparison with other means of transport. Further, there are described 5 major railway companies and the state owned company Amtrak, which focuses on passenger transport. The analysis elaborates on the topic of competitivness of Amtrak in various corridors. The author is seeking the answer to the question: Is there a possible gap in the passenger transport market that Amtrak can fill?

Current situation in transportation from hauler´s point of view

The aim of the thesis is to analyze impacts of implementing charges for haulers. The thesis focuses on implementing toll system in Czech Republic and some other european countries. The study identifies areas of transportaion which were affected by setting up new toll system. Impacts of charges are analyzed based on available information and statistics. Conclusions of impacts are presented in the end of the thesis.

Freight rail transport in the USA

In this bachelor thesis, I am going to characterize the evolution of rail transport in the USA since the very beginning in the 19th century until nowadays. In particular, I want to write about current trends in freight rail transport, infrastructure, situation on the American market, safety and also about the relationship with environment. In the second party, I am going to analyze two major companies on the market -- Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern. To be more precise, I would like to review their history, portfolio of the commodities they transport, locomotive and car rosters and economic situation. In the final conclusion, I sum up the current situation in the USA, concerning the most significant and typical characteristics of the rail freight transport and the differences between the USA and the Europe.
