Robot Trilobot Control Using FITKit
Růžek, Michal ; Novotný, Tomáš (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
The goal of this master's thesis is to design a robot Trilobot controller using a FITkit platform. It describes sensors and actuators widely used in mobile robotics. Part of the thesis is aimed to analyze in detail current Trilobot's peripherals, their conections and ways of communication. A circuit diagram of designed electronics is completed by the PCB design and description of small changes of the current Trilobot. The thesis also contains implementation of utility HW in the FPGA and a software library for a microcontroller. The finished control unit is tested by sort of demonstration applications.
ZX Spectrum Small Home Computer Emulator
Šimon, Petr ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Růžička, Richard (advisor)
Eight-bit computer ZX Spectrum has been created 30 years ago. It was extremely popular in its time and it has many fans till now, which still developing new application and games. There are also many new hardware extensions like IDE HDD driver, SD/MMC memory driver etc. The aim of this thesis is the design and develop of ZX Spectrum emulator, which will be based on modern PFGA technology and it will use modern periphery like VGA monitor, SD/MMC memory cards etc.
DMA Support for HCS08 Microcontrollers Family
Novosád, Adrián ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
Embedded systems are dedicated to perform specific tasks, so design engineers can optimize them to reduce the size and cost of the product and increase the reliability and performance. However, result of these optimizations is that some architectures may lack commonly used technologies such as direct memory access (DMA). We may encounter with this situation in family of microcontrollers HCS08. The main theme of this work is to describe a design of DMA controller that can be added into the family of microcontrollers HCS08.
Thermometer for SW/HW Platform FITkit
Čižinský, Vojtěch ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The real progress in temperature measurement was made in 20th century. This specialization has since affected all domains of human doing and improved many of processes. This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a measuring module, which has to be plugged to a FITkit platform, and the implementation of the program, which communicates with the module. There will be a couple of various temperature sensors placed on the module, with various ways of the temperature presentation.
Robot Control Using FITkit
Novotný, Tomáš ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
This paper deals with the teoretical background, design and implementation of the remote controlled robot, which is shipped with various sensors. Work is based on the available devices. FITkit is used for controlling sensors, motors and communication with the PC at the robot side. The different interfaces are used by almost every sensor. These are the I2C bus, PWM or analog signals. The biggest part of the controlling is done by the FITkit using programming C language. The FPGA is used just for the communication over the COM port. Later expansion was in the mind during the design and implementation. The result of this work is remote controlled robot with the sonars, compass, accelerometer and optical encoders.
Controller for the Model Railway Based on FITKit
Kandrik, Ján ; Kotásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Straka, Martin (advisor)
This work discusses a controller for model railroad derived from a state-of-art railway interlocking system, electronic signalbox. Work of interlocking and model railroad signalling issues are described among the design and implementation parts of such system. Also analyses creation of parts for the controller using FITkit, a microcontroller educational platform.
Hardware Accelerating of Encryption Algorithm
Hradil, David ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design a hardware realization of circuit which will implement the AES algorithm. A motivation was to make an acceleration against the classic software encryption. The acceleration is achieved by special designed parts of the circuit, which correspond to particular operations of the AES algorithm. First, there was necessary to design the circuit. In the next step there was a need to describe the designed circuit by the VHDL language. Then the circuit was simulated and synthesized. Due to comparing the circuit with software processing a software implementation was created. Both implementations were created for the FITKit platform. The hardware implementation is made by the FPGA technology and the software implementation is realized in a microcontroller. The result of the thesis is almost one thousandfold acceleration against the classic software encryption.
Temperature Monitoring
Kotačka, Aleš ; Winter, Jan (referee) ; Kubek, Ján (advisor)
This master's thesis deals use FITkit for longtime temperature monitoring without necessity connection on PC. Describe possibilities connection different heat-sensitive elements to FITkit inclusive physical realization. Further this thesis deals with measuring of temperature, displaying temperature and saving to memory, blocks-partitioning of memory. Is defined communication protocol between FITkit and PC for bulk downloading of data. So are solving problems with saving measure data to text files and next processing in table processors.
Wireless Communication in Fire Sport
Pelka, Tomáš ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work describes the design of wireless timer for fire sport disciplines. Its aim is to replace long wires with wireless communication while preserving equal or better reliability. Important part is the need for clock synchronization between wireless modules. Related topic is selection of suitable synchronization algorithm and communication protocol. The proposed system was realized in form of prototype using Texas Instruments's development platform LaunchPad EXP 430 FR4133 and wireless modules with Texas Instruments's chip CC1101. Parameters of designed system (especially the accuracy of time synchronization and measurement) were verified in laboratory.
FITkit VGA Grabber
Lojda, Jakub ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This paper discusses the possibilities of realization of VGA grabber for FITkit. Text is focused on software and hardware implementation possibilities. The first part introduces the reader to the theory of the issue. Next, the paper proposes several options of VGA grabber implementation and brief evaluation of alternatives. The second part describes a chosen architecture of VGA grabber of the featured options and includes a brief summary of the findings of the processor LPC4370 from NXP and USB Video Class UVC, on which the resulting architecture is based. The conclusion includes a brief summary.
