The concept of design is in contrast rectangular mass units with a soft outer shell halls. This transparent ETFE foil sheath immaterial defines the basic volume halls. In contrast, there is the austere cubic mass, consisting of a layer of vertical adjustable curtains in red, which allow control of lighting conditions indoors. Working solution is based on the universality and flexibility of spatial concepts, for use of the area is variable, reflecting the wide professional profile Sciences and technically oriented part of the faculty. Building structure enables change of any user, modification technologies in short cycles and adaptability in terms of surface require. At the is used the principle of "shell and core", ie equipment basic service core is enclosed inside, and other equipment will be easily refillable according to the needs of a specific user. The design consists of three consecutive mass communication-related neck. At the first mass there is entrance space, sanitary facilities, offices, laboratories and technical facilities. At other two mass there are halls, the first is about half the size of the other. These indoor spaces can be variably split a total of 12 identical units (for each unit are the storage areas, sanitary facilities and offices) Storage areas are placed under the hall, as well as underground parking. Connecting neck serves not only to communicate as such, but it is a social or relaxing space. In this area at the same time meet all the staff and transmit a valuable experience.
Cathedral today
Nováková, Eva ; Mléčka, Jan (referee) ; Štěpán, Marek (advisor)
The main topic of the Diploma thesis is a complex design to rescue cathedral Notre-Dame in Paris. The work is firstly focused on the reconstruction of the structure including its collapsed parts and preserving a link to the destructive fire in 2019. The mainstay of the thesis is a design of new roof space and its use by broad public. Due to uncertainties about the structure stability disrupted by the fire a great emphasis has been put on the weight reduction of the newly built roof structure. The design makes a genuine attempt to be sensitive with respect to the spiritual function of the cathedral, thus the public roof access is separated from the cathedral itself thanks to a newly built underground spaces that are also included in the design.
Sports and Leisure Centre Brno
Winkler, Marek ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
The topic of my work was to revitalize, recreate and redefine the recreational and sports area Za Lužánkami. Despite its gradual ruining and poor technical conditions it still has something to offer. Indications of this are constant efforts to refresh sport activities and ambitions to bring to this place its lost glory. The main goal of this proposal was to focus on creating a football stadium, support and highlight its dominance and majesty. Stadium was dimensioned on real usefulness with capacity more than 20 000 spectators. The main element of the stadium is its placing in a rising surface and to create a construction which will be a pleasant attraction with its exterior raising pillars and roof construction from all cardinal points. Football stadium fulfills functions of a modern stadium in all required factors and its placing and connection and fulfills sports hall compliance and recreational area for all visitors and householders.
Analysis of membrane structures
Motyčka, Tomáš ; Zajac, Zbyněk (referee) ; Lang, Rostislav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on a comprehensive analysis and design of membrane structures that are one of the most dynamically developing areas in structural engineering. These structures, that are characterised by their ability to cover large spans with a minimum number of supporting elements and provide high levels of natural light due to their translucency, are examined in this thesis from theoretical and practical perspectives. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the basic principles of their design and analysis are described, including detailed A detailed discussion of the materials and technologies used. Special attention is paid to mechanical properties of fabrics, which are crucial for the functionality and durability of these structures. The second chapter deals with the numerical analysis of membrane structures, with an emphasis on the non linear mechanics, the form-finding process for determining the optimal shape of the structure, and methods for calculation of cutting patterns. In the practical part, case studies are presented, including the analysis of prestressed membrane of the Anthropos dance pavilion and the ETFE cushion roof structure. These studies offer insights into the challenges and solutions associated with the design and analysis of membrane structures, including detailed descriptions of the structures, calculation models and load analyses. Specific emphasis is placed on Analysis of the 'ponding' effect, a common cause of failure in these structures.
