Rocker for Formula Student Vehicle
Šprta, Petr ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with a prototype of the rear suspension rockers of the racing monopost Dragon 10th generation, which is being developed at the Brno University of Technology within the international educational project Formula Student. Based on the research, the technology method of casting has been chosen for this purpose. The input for the prototype of the rocker arms is based on the impacting forces and suspension points given by kinematics of the vehicle. Based on these facts, topology optimization of the shapes has been conducted and the components have been modelled accordingly. Followingly, optimization focused on minimizing weight, deformation and stress were conducted using the reverse loading of modelled components. The last part of this thesis is concerned in the comparison of rear rockers of the last year‘s monopost Dragon 9. Taking into consideration the change of the concept, the mechanical properties of rockers are slightly better.
Casted Formula Student Upright
Doležal, Tomáš ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with a design of casted upright for Formula Student vehicle Dragon X. Casting method used for the purpose of this thesis was selected by review of relevant scientific literature. The upright was then structurally designed and strength calculations were made. Main criterion of the design is minimum compliance with meeting the required weight. Final design is compared with the design of the previous generation of vehicle.
