The current media coverage of the prague public transport company

The diploma thesis "Media Coverage of Prague Public Transport Company" intends to describe the media image of the company in selected Czech dailies Metro, MF Dnes, Právo and Pražský deník during the years 2011 and 2012. A total of 680 articles were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively systematically describing their content during the period mentioned. The theoretical part introduces the reader to a broader context and serves as a platform anchoring the practical part. At first this part introduces the chosen methodology and then the results and interpretation. The quantitative content analysis explores how often and how much the topic appears in print media, its timing during the given period, and deals with researching of mainly published topics mentioned in press and their relationships in connection to Prague Public Transport Company. The thesis also focuses on the types of articles (hard news and soft news) and also examines which actors appeared in the selected newspapers. The next part deals with the linguistic interpretation of individual statements about Prague Public Transport Company, therefore, in what areas is the subject of analysis evaluated positively or negatively, on the basis of the attributes of language resources and comparison. CSR activities of the Prague Public Transport Company in 2008-2011

The main goal of this project is to describe social responsibility of Prague Public Transport Company within the specified period. The concept of CSR is set in a broader context in the introduction. The term CSR is defined according to the different approaches in relation to current debates about a single definition. Further, the project presents social responsibility in the field of public transport. Each company's campaign is compared with theoretical approaches in order to assess the overall tone of socially responsible business. At the end the project pays attention to corporate communication and culture.

Monopoly in Terms of the Czech Economy

This thesis deals with monopolies and companies in a dominant position in the Czech economy. The theoretical part explains the market, its functioning and laws, characterizes the perfect and imperfect competition; the individual structures of imperfect competition are analyzed more specifically. The biggest part is dedicated to the characteristics of the monopoly and regulation of the monopolies. The practical part focuses on analysis of current situation on the Czech market; it marks the companies, which could be considered as monopolies. The work examines the position of individual companies on the market, analyzes the reasons for their dominant market position, determines, what type of monopoly the individual companies belong to, and answers the question of harmfulness of these monopolies. Then the thesis presents a survey, which expresses the opinion of the Czech population on the issue of monopoly.

Financing of public city transport

This thesis deals with the financing of city public transport. For this purpose was chosen the Prague Public Transport Company which is the largest public city transport company in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on determination of conditions for cofinancing of city public transport from public sources. The practical part analyses economy of Prague Public Transport Company and then based on this analyses describes the possibilities of cofinancing of public city transport from public sources and possible consequences of changing the structure of financing.

The first part is about the history of trams in Prague and the second part describes the current tram fleet. The third part presents the options of tram fleet renewal.
