Rehabilitation of family drug addicted parents

Key words: Abstinence - oriented treatment, Dependance syndrome, Dysfunctional family, Rehabilitation of family, Resocialization, Withdrawal syndrome This thesis addresses the issue of drug addiction and parenting. It focuses on society's view on drug addicted parents and briefly defines the concept of addiction. The core work is the rehabilitation of these families and its various forms. It describes the role of professional institutions that deal with protecting the interests of the child and work with drug addicted parents and contributes to the rehabilitation of the family. The work also includes specific aspects of women's drug addiction and the consequences of substance use during pregnancy on the child. At the end of the theoretical chapter is devoted to professional institutions and their programs to work with the family. The practical part of this thesis includes three case studies that describe families of drug addicted parents and the way their efforts to restore or maintain the family.
A case study of a recovering alcoholic wife living together with an alcoholic husband

Background: Abstinent woman, former alcohol user, who is in marriage with active alcohol user. Concept co-dependency (Kudrle, 2003, Whitfield, 1991). Determination, agreement and the will of the married couple for participation in this case study concerning alcohol use and its effects on their coexistence. Objectives and research questions: The main objective of this thesis was to investigate the coexistence of an alcohol-dependent husband with abstinent wife. The main research question was: How is the coexistence of dependent partner with abstinent wife? Additional research questions were: 1) Does, the coexistence look as harmonic in the eyes of the couple and does it fulfil the image of the ideal partnership? 2) What is the role of the respondents in the partnership - is there a sign of co-dependency? 3) Which are the relaps prevention techniques the wife use for maintaining the abstinence? 4) What circumstance or situations may motivate the husband to quit alcohol use? Methodology: The gathering of data for this case study was done by qualitative approach. The main collection methods were the semi-structures in-depth interviews (Miovský, 2006). Specific use of art therapy in the aftercare center

This work focuses on the concept of art therapy in Aftercare center, in the service of dealing with follow-up care for people who are recovering from addiction, especially on non-alcohol drugs. Given topic is treated in the theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the paper summarizes the basic definitions related to drug addiction and dependent personality description, followed by an after-care services and focuses on the principles and goals of treatment of addiction. In the treatment of addiction is the default selected using psychotherapy and expressive psychotherapy - art therapy. Art therapy is described as a field, along with historical context, the definition of guidelines that define the field and determining the place of art therapy in the treatment of addiction. The introduction of practical work is described in detail Aftercare center Prevent, focusing on the course and composition of the art therapy program and representation in it. Then are presented work in the background in art therapy Aftercare center Prevent. The main place of work is to present specific case studies of clients with analysis and interpretation of artifacts that illustrate ways of working within art therapy group with respect to the method Rožnov art therapy. The conclusion summarizes the specifics of the use of art therapy in the type of equipment described and obvious benefits for the field of art therapy.
Secondary prevention of drug addiction

The main aim of this graduation thesis is to define the term of secondary prevention of drug addiction, which is sometime apprehended in different ways in The Czech Republic. I try to include this new definition to our drug policy and classify target groups and bring new methods to the secondary prevention of drug addiction. The thesis is focused on the terms drug, dependence syndrome and prevention and I use various definitions and opinions. I describe and briefly evaluate the system of drug policy and the place of secondary prevention. The occasional users and their families and friends are defined as a target group. The motivational interviewing is the main method in the secondary prevention. The thesis is structured into six parts and in the last part there are some practical examples from two low-thershold facilities for children and youth.
