Sociodemografická analýza Uzbekistánu
Abdukakhkhorova, Dilafruz
The diploma thesis deals with the socio-demographic analysis of Uzbekistan in the years 1991-2021. This work follows the development of indicators related to the number of inhabitants, mortality, birth rate and fertility, marriage, divorce rate and migration. The aim of the work is to identify problems associated with labor migration and propose possible solutions based on socio-demographic analysis. The development of individual indicators is evaluated with regard to the main causes and the overall development of Uzbekistan. A cluster analysis was used for a multi-criteria view of the selected indicators, which enabled a continuous view of the monitored country through the given indicators. The conclusion of the work consists of a summary of the most important findings and a proposal of recommendations that could improve the situation in the monitored country.
Potratová politika a její vliv na demografické ukazatele a situaci ve vybraných státech Latinské Ameriky
Dufková, Barbora
This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of Abortion Policy and its influence on demographic indicators in selected Latin American countries. The goal is to find out what effect the legislation has on the demographic indicators that are related to abortion. The literary research focuses on the development of the feminist movement and the issue of access to abortion in the world. Also, the problems of illegal abortions, different perspectives on abortion and finally the demographic indicators themselves affected by legislative interventions in access to abortions. Three Latin America countries, Argentina, Uruguay, and Ecuador are the subject of the study, because each of the mentioned countries had a unique way to current state of legislation. The thesis uses regression and correlation Analysis for five demographic indicators. These are abortion rate, birth rate and neonatal, infant, and maternal mortality. The results show that the resulting dependence is the same and significant in all states regardless of the state of legislation. The change in demographic indicators is visible to all, regardless of the degree of abortion restriction. Fear of a demographic change in the Population from the results is not a reason for further prohibition of abortion.
Population density and its relation to selected demographic and social indicators
Zalubil, Jakub ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čermák, Zdeněk (referee)
The topic of this thesis is the analysis of the relationship between population density and demographic behavior, which is expressed in this work by values of selected socio- - demographic indicators - total fertility, life expectancy, age index, standardized mortality and urbanization rates in selected European countries. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part defines trends in the development of population concentration and values of selected socio-demographic indicators in European countries. The second part of the thesis identifies the dependence of values of selected indicators on the population concentration and differences between the urban and the rural environment. The context is examined by the cluster, the correlation and the regression analysis. The results are also presented using cartograms. Analyses has shown that population density is likely to have an impact on selected demographic and social indicators at the European level. In the European cohesion regions (NUTS 2), the correlation between population density and other socio-demographic indicators was no longer apparent. Key words: demographic indicators; population aging population density; rural; urbanisation
Periferní oblasti jižních Čech - vymezení, typy a stabilita
CHVOJKOVÁ, Aneta
The bachelor's thesis deals in particular with the delineation of peripheral municipalities and areas of South Bohemia and evaluation of their social-population development (stability). For the purposes of the thesis peripheral municipalities are municipalities distant from microregional settlement centres. They are delineated based on public transport connections as being too far from the microregional settlement centres in terms of time or not connected with these centres by a sufficient number of connections. Except for peripheral municipalities and municipalities of microregional settlement centres there are also suburban municipalities and semiperipheral municipalities delineated (the rest). Settlement centres are defined and structured into a hierarchy based on four characteristics: services for residents, population, number of commuters and number of public transport connections. Metropolitan (mesoregional), city (microregional), small-town (nano), township (piko) and rural (femto) settlement centres are delineated. Then the social-population development (stability) of all municipalities in the South Bohemian Region and their types are evaluated. There is 1 mesoregional, 17 microregional, 14 nano, 11 piko and 35 femto settlement centres delineated in the South Bohemian Region. Peripheral municipalities are grouped into 19 peripheral areas (7 frontier, 5 interregional and 7 intraregional). Semiperipheral piko centres, peripheral piko and nano centres have the worst results in terms of social and population development (stability); as for the peripheral areas, the worst results were in interregional peripheral areas (in particular the surroundings of Deštná and Mladá Vožice) and some frontier peripheral areas (Novohradsko and Vitorazsko area).
The impact of economic crises on fertility in EU member states
Chourová, Renáta ; Kocourková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (referee)
The Impact of Economic Crisis on Fertility in EU Member States Abstract The present bachelor thesis describes and compares the development of economic and demographic indicators within the context of the economic crisis in Europe. Using cluster analysis 27 European Union members have been divided into groups with similar characteristics. Moreover the countries were analysed based on results of cluster analysis covering selected years 2006 and 2011 which were selected by assuming of different values of parameters before and after the main impact of the economic crisis. European countries have been facing a decrease of total fertility rate below replacement levels from 60th of 20th century. It can be quite difficult to identify reasons of the above mentioned symptoms, but aspects affecting the total fertility level may be just changes in reproductive behaviour patterns associated with the impact of the second demographic transition and changing economic and political conditions in European countries. As there is a different total fertility level in various European countries we can see different interventions of local governments through a different pro-natal policy to encourage fertility. Key words: economic indicators, demographic indicators, economic crisis, European Union, family policy, cluster analysis
Analysis of the health care systems in Denmark and the Netherlands
Votrubová, Kateřina ; Maaytová, Alena (advisor) ; Gajdošová, Eva (referee)
The master thesis deals with the health care systems of Denmark and Netherlands. The goal of this paper is to assess the relationship between the health expenditures and selected demographic indicators. In the first part is defined health, types of the health systems and described the current trends in the healthcare. The second part of this thesis describes the health systems in Denmark and Netherlands (basic characteristics, financing, provision of services and health care reforms). The practical part contains an analysis of public and private health expenditures and selected demographic indicators and their relationship.
Development of the European Union according to selected demographic indicators
Illeová, Iva ; Fiala, Tomáš (advisor) ; Miskolczi, Martina (referee)
This diploma aims to analyze the development of the European Union Member States for last thirty years in terms of demographic indicators. First chapter is focused on the historical development of the world's population, followed by the development of the European population and political history of the European Union. Next chapter is focused on the most commonly used demographic indicators for international comparisons divided into groups according to demographic processes, their interpretation and calculation. The main part of the work is analysis of selected indicators for the Member States of the EU with regard to the European average of 27 Member States in the period between 1981 and 2011. Another chapter is devoted to modify data for above mentioned simple analysis and cluster analysis, which is located in the last chapter. Cluster analysis was performed using Euclidean distance and using nearest and furthest neighbor and Ward's method. In 1981 the furthest neighbor method divided Member States into five clusters and in 2011 the Ward's method divided Member States again within five clusters, but with a different composition. Original data for Multidimensional description is added to annex with the results of calculations and graphs.
Global Population Problem
Papežová, Zuzana ; Jeníček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Janković, Vukica (referee)
Bachelor thesis titled Global Population Problem is focused on a group of global problems, which mainly arises from the adverse demographic development on Earth. The aim of this work is to describe the basic demographic trends affecting the formation and existence of the global population problem. It also gives evaluation and suggestions of current and future solutions to this problem. Characterization of demographic indicators and their changes over time with an emphasis on both the average and extreme values and analysis of solutions of selected sub-part of the problem were used as a method. Based on the information, it is possible to identify the main problems and analyze possible solutions. The first problem is the rapid population growth, when the number of people on the planet could more than double by the end of the century. Furthermore, the asymmetry of this growth, with the largest share of the population explosion to the poorest regions, whose young age structure prevents the stabilization of population growth in short term. Also the European continent is affected by the population aging, which causes the gradual extinction of the local peoples. There is no comprehensive solution to these problems. Nevertheless, partial steps will gradually improve the situation and may achieve some improvements.
Cluster analysis of destricts of the Czech Republic ecording to demographic indicators
Saifrtová, Barbora ; Langhamrová, Jitka (advisor) ; Miskolczi, Martina (referee)
Master thesis deals with dividing destricts of the Czech Republic in to clusters acording to demographic indicators during the year 2011. After the theoretical introduction with exploratory data analyiss, factor analysis and cluster analysis is described practical implementation of agglomerative hierarchical clustering. Within the frame cluster analysis we compare results calculated by four methods of clustering, which are the single linkage method, the complete linkage method, the average linkage method and Ward's method. At the conclusion we select the method which divides destricts of the Czech Republic in to the clusters the best. Master thesis includes a prezentations of discovere results with the help of dendrograms and cartograms. The analysis were carried out with the help of the statistical program STATISTICA.
