This Master's thesis focuses on challenges and opportunities of a Franco-German cross-border cooperation in the cultural sector. Therefore, this thesis proposes to take a closer look at the Franco-German festival of performing arts PERSPECTIVES, which is organised within the Greater Region and has existed for a comparatively long time. With the help of semi-structured interviews, the thesis aims to answer the following questions: How successfully does the cross-border cooperation work? Which aspects have already developed a successful mode of operation? Where is still need for action? Which challenges are cross-border cooperations in the cultural sector facing?
Public and private financing of Culture

The Diploma thesis is devoted to the problems of financing culture focusing on the private and public support. The Theoretical part defines the basic theoretical concepts and the principle of functioning of the state contributory organizations in Czech Republic and characterizes the basic sources of financing of the Culture, covering public direct financial support (e.g. subsidies) and indirect support (tax expenditures), private financial support from profit and non-profit organizations and financing from EEA grants. The Practical part is focused on the quantitative analysis of the financial resources to the Culture and its development in time and measures the financial self-sufficiency of the organizations and the possibility of obtaining additional financial and other support through the private sector. It can be approbate that the financial self-sufficiency differs between the semi-budgetary organizations significantly, as well between sectors. However, the financial self-sufficiency of the cultural sector as a whole shows a positive trend.
Performance Management in Drama Theatre and Musical Theatre Sphere

Doctoral thesis deals with the performance management in drama theatre and musical theatre sphere. The dissertation aims to create a model of performance management for the sphere as a problem solving tool related to the performance management during the rehearsal period. The paper is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part deals with current trends and methods, problems and challenges of HR Management, evolving role of HR professionals and issue of performance management in general. Furthermore, the part deals with management of the cultural sector, human resources management in a theatre, activities of the rehearsal period and with performance in the drama theatre and musical theatre sphere. Empirical part comprises an analysis of the qualitative research, design of the performance management model and model verification via expert estimates. Important findings (such as activities significant for the performance management in the drama theatre and musical theatre sphere, the most common problems of the performance management in the sphere and their solution proposals etc.) are summarized in the conclusion of the doctoral thesis.
