"Cephalonia" in the West German and Italian Cultures of Remembrance. 1943-1989
Mikulová, Soňa ; Pešek, Jiří (advisor) ; Woller, Hans (referee) ; Cornelißen, Christoph (referee)
This doctoral thesis deals with West German and Italian public memory of a specific wartime episode on the Greek island of Cephalonia. In September 1943, soldiers of the Wehrmacht, the regular German army, committed mass executions on up to 4,000 Italian prisoners of war. The thesis also analyses the mutual reception of the memory discourses in West Germany and Italy and examines the possibility of an interaction between their participants. The thesis uses the case study "Cephalonia" to expose how West German and Italian society came to terms with the past of the World War II in the period from 1943 to 1989. GAJDOŠOVÁ, Adéla
Upbringing and education children with cephalonia The children with cephalonia develop slowly but they are very sensitive and perceptive. Their upbringing and education is very discussed problem at present. Every men is an unique personality and every men is entitled to the full-value life with the education and the love and it applies also to people with cephalonia. The main subject of the diploma thesis was to describe the general information about the cephalonia (aetiology, classification, possibilities of education of people with cephalonia). The practical part of the diploma thesis has two goals. The first goal was to find out and describe the situation of skilled employees in the educational institutions for children with cephalonia. The second goal was to find out and describe the level of the special pedagogic care of children with cephalonia (especially using of alternative therapies). Both of goals were achieved. The diploma thesis verified two existing hypothesis together. The basic technique of data collection was the questionnaire for teacher in the educational institutions for children with cephalonia in the Zlín region. The secondary analysis of the methodical materials and the educational programmes in the special schools in Zlín region was the next used method. The hypothesis no.1 (There is lack of skilled employees in the educational institutions for children with cephalonia) was overcame. The most of interviewed special pedagogues had requisite qualification according to law and the others studied for this qualification by their employment. The hypothesis no.2 (The alternative therapies are not using enough in the educational institutions for children with cephalonia) was confirmed. According to the secondary analysis of the methodical materials the particulars of the alternative therapies are using because these particulars of therapies are parts of the curriculum for children with special needs. But the research results that quarter of informants don{\crq}t use the alternative therapies and they don{\crq}t have the appropriate qualification for it. The results of this diploma thesis could have been using as an information brochure for parents and teachers of children with cephalonia.
Possibility for client{\crq}s development of personality in stationary {\clqq}Úsměv`` for persons with mental and combined handicaps
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Veronika
The care of individuals with mental and combined handicaps is so hard, that it is often necessary to place the individuals into the day centres. The client daily attend all therapies with simultaneous educating by social experiences, by the offer of interest and club{\crq}s activities. The aim of this work was to find out, what activities help to the clients of the stationary Úsměv for persons with mental and combined handicaps in Třebíč in the development of personality, motoric abilities, integrating into the society, activities that lead to the keeping and developing of intellectual powers and skills and so on. After I have acquainted with the problems I have decided to use the qualitative research. As the essential methods I have selected unconcerned observation, non-standard interview and the content data analysis of the medical and psychological documents. The main aim was to obtain the essential information on researched individuals in relation to their developments that depend on the stationary activities. The interviews were conducted with the researched individuals, employees, parents of the individuals and they are evaluated for each group. The target file was formed of 5 individuals from the stationary Úsměv for persons with mental and combined handicaps older than 15 years in Třebíč with DMO. On the basis of the pieces of knowledge I have created the hypothesis: {\clqq}Everyday, systematic and regular visits of the stationary client and usage of all activities it has offered can help to develop the personality, integrate the client into the society, obtain self-sufficiency, development of rough and fine motoric in the area of clients with mental and combined handicap and primarily with DMO.`` The results of my research confirmed that there doesn{\crq}t exist one concrete activity that would help in the client{\crq}s personality development but the complex of all activities provided by the stationary can help them and the regular contact with people out of the home environment can help with their integration into the society. Necessity of the long-term planning of the personality development of each client came out of the research and keeping of the detailed documentation about the development of their abilities and skills.
Freetime activities of pupils with a handicap in practical and special primary schools in Region Český Krumlov and České Budějovice
ŠTIKOVÁ, Petra
My thesis deals with the free time of mentally handicapped children who attend practical and special primary schools. The theoretical part describes especially the problems of free time and a mental handicap. I also included the integration of mentally ill people into the society and a short excursion to the system of educational institutions for mentally ill pupils. The objective of the thesis is the find out about the offer of free time activities in after-school institutions for the pupils of practical and special schools in the districts of Český Krumlov and České Budějovice and to find out if the pupils participate in these free time activities. The next objective is to find out if after-school institutions offering these free time activities sufficiently inform the pupils of practical and special primary schools on the offer of hobby groups and if the use of this offer depends on the financial situation of a family. The last objective is to find out about the offer of free time activities in terms of practical and special primary schools. The research was carried out by the help of a questionnaire for the parents of pupils from practical and special primary schools and further by the help of two controlled interviews. The first interview was carried out with the headmasters of practical and special primary schools and the second was carried out with the representatives of free time institutions. Everything took place in the districts of Český Krumlov and České Budějovice. From the collected data the following facts resulted: free time activities in after-school institutions are available for the pupils of practical and special primary schools and the offer of hobby groups in these schools fulfills the needs of pupils who are interested in these groups. An exception is The Practical Primary School in Loučovice which does not offer any hobby groups. It would be appropriate to open a hobby group there. The research also proved that the necessity of payments for after-school hobby activities is not the reason why some children do not participate in them. The main problem lies in the information net between free time institutions and a school and subsequently between a school and parents. The situation is that the pupils attend only hobby groups in terms of a school even if they could have wider range of choice in after-school institutions.

The work also aims to establish the level of satisfaction of those clients with learning difficulties who work. Quantitative research methods were used for data collection. The method of e-mail questioning was used to find out what work is offered to clients in the facilities. In the second part which is aimed at clients who work and their satisfaction, the method of questioning was also used. In this case the technique of standardized (managed) interview was used. Both hypotheses were verified on the basis of the research results.

KLOZOVÁ, Lucie
In our country, problems connected with Down{\crq}s syndrom are still actual. About 70 children per year, which is approximately one child in 1500 live-born children, are born with this genetic imperfection. Down syndrome is connected with typical symptoms, furtheremore, these people can be more inclinable to some illnesses, in addition to this, mental retardation is always present. I decided to compare young school-children{\crq}s drawings with those made by people who are stricken with Down{\crq}s syndrome.
