Use of the Brdy PLA in High-School Science Teaching

Presented work studies the possibilities of recently established protected landscape area (PLA) Brdy for a systematic use in teaching nature and biology related subjects at schools closely neighboring the PLA. The theoretical part of this diploma work makes a resume of basic information regarding the legal status of PLA's and introduces the reader into main facts about the PLA Brdy focusing on its natural aspects and specifics. General methods of education are reviewed briefly, followed by a more detailed discussion about the educational form of field trip and about possibilities how such trips or excursions to the PLA Brdy can be used in the education practice. The key part of this work is a relatively large questionnaire research for teachers, pupils and students of elementary and secondary schools next to Brdy. It establishes a database of their approaches to and existing experiences with field trips generally and excursions into PLA Brdy in particular. Two separate questionnaires have been used: one for teachers (16 questions, 26 respondents) and another one for pupils and students (30 questions, 152 respondents). Analýza a potenciál efektivního rozvoje CHKO Brdy

The thesis deals with analysis and potential of an efficient development of landscape park Brdy. Its aim is to raise public awareness of a recently established nature conservation area. A part of the thesis introduces a qualitative research cariied out in form of interviews with visitors in the area. The empirical part of the thesis deals with analysis of opinions and experiences of the visitors. The main aim of this part is on the grounds of respondents´ answers to propose basic arrangements for a future effective development of some sections of the tourism in the area. The findings are summarized and the given hypothesis is evaluated in the end of the thesis. There is also a proposal of new opportunities of an efficient development of this area in compliance with conservation of the current landscape form.
Impact of military operations on diversity and occurrence of reptiles in protected landscape area Brdy

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to prove impacts of military, especially artillery activities on populations of reptiles. For our research was chosen the territory of central Brdy which was more than eighty years used by Armed Forces of the Czech Republic for training of artillery troops Jince. In the past there operated Armed Forces of Czechoslovakia or Armed Forces of Czechoslovakia Federative Republic. The Protected Landscape Area Brdy has been extended on the majority of former military district territory since 2016. The goal of the thesis is to elaborate the literary recherché which compares suitability of disruption management in various military space and Protected Landscape Areas. On the basis of personal monitoring of reptiles and earlier results we found out diversity and expansion of reptiles in Protected Landscape area Brdy and influence of previous or current military activities on reptiles. Achieved results will be compared with the other military area and Protected Landscape Areas. The outcome of this thesis will be also the proposal for perspective protection of reptiles in areas with present or past military activities.

This diploma thesis characterizes the region of Central Brdy from the perspective of natural conditions, historical development and utilization. Former Brdy military training area became a part of PLA Brdy in 2016, whereby new options for touring and recreation were created. By this, new opportunities in development of the infrastructure and commercial activities for adjoining municipalities were made. As a main objective of the thesis, recreation potential of the region is determined using selected methods. For higher precision, several methods of recreation potential determination were applied and compared. This could be helpful for the municipalities when planning further development. Sustainable tourism development in the Brdy Protected Landscape Area

The diploma thesis deals with the development of sustainable tourism in protected areas. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the possibilities of sustainable tourism development in the protected area. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue in general terms. The problem is practically solved on the example of Brdy Protected Landscape Area (PLA). An identification for localization and implementation conditions for the development of sustainable tourism has been realized within the analysis of the examined areas potential. This identification was conducted as an empirical investigation with the representatives of the interested municipalities, local action groups and other organizations. The acquired knowledge has been reviewed with the PLA representatives opinions. Summarizing all gained knowledge, the PLA Brdy has been assessed as area that fulfils the prerequisites for the sustainable tourism development. Due to the character of the area, the development must be implemented only in the environment friendly forms.
