The development of the pension system

The pension reform in the Czech Republic is undoubtedly one of the most discussed topics in recent years. This work first gives a brief overview of basic concepts relating to the social security. In the second part it describes the current pension system in the Czech Republic. The most important factors, which are closely associated with the pension system and significantly affects it, are primarily fertility rate, mortality and migration. In the last part the work analyzes the planned pension reform to respond to negative demographic trends, including increasing the age limit for retirement. The major change in the current system is the introduction of capital pillars. Another important change is the different contribution to the pension schemes. The final shape of the reform went through a long approval process, in which most political parties created their own opinions and took their views on making changes in the current pension system. The reader is also introduced with these variants in the last part of this work.
Pension revision in Czech Republic

The first part of this thesis aims for basic arguments why we need a revision of the social system. First of all it aims mainly why it is necessary to do a revision of social system in the Czech republic and how the conditions have changed in comparison with the last situation when the social system met then conditions. Then it analyses a preparation of the social system revision in the Czech republic. Next part shows the proces of revision in other countries in the Word. The thesis also deals with the process of the social system revision, possible solutions and their advantages and disadvantages. Because the social system revision is affected by political, economical and social situations in the country this thesis show us the variants of Czech political parties.
Pension reform, as proposed by the present government CR

For many years has been pension reform widely discussed topic by governments of the Czech republic representatives. Its final form has been for many years unclear unclear and approval of individual points faced opposition as each political party had different view. First major change came with decision of Constitutional Court that current pension system proclaimed little merit. Another major change, the implementation of capital pillar, is planned for 2013. Experts agree that no ideal pension system exists. Furthermore, government had to compromise to reach version that can pass. Final version of the pension reform will inevitably lead to increase in budget deficit, by 22 billion in 2020, compared with situation of not reforming the pension system at all.
