Project of a Database for a Czech Red Cross Critical Evacuation Centre

This bachelor’s thesis deals with design of a database for a critical evacuation center of the Czech red cross. There are theoretical basics described in the first part. It offers basic overview of knowledge, which is important for reaching assigned aims. There is also analysed internal situation of the Czech red cross and defined requirements to the database. Obtained pieces of knowledge are processed in the practical part and they are utilised for the main proposal. Suggested design of the database is summed up in the final part.
The history of lifesaving sport in the area of Czech Republic

The bachelor's thesis deals with the history of lifesaving sport in the Czech Republic and relevant areas that are closely related to this topic. This work is divided into several consecutive parts. Water rescue is closely related to movement in the aquatic environment, the beginning of which dates to the primordial community. The beginnings of water rescue occur during the 18th to 19th centuries in the world. In the Czech Republic only in the second half of the 19th century thanks to the establishment of the first rescue associations. With the development, organizations focused exclusively on rescuing drowning people gradually emerged. At the world level, it was headed by the International Life Saving Federation, in the Czech Republic by the Water Rescue Service of the Czech Red Cross / Czechoslovak Red Cross (ČČK/ČSČK). The first organized races in water rescue date back to 1871. Gradually, they became a tradition that continues to this day. Currently, competitions in water rescue are organized every year at the regional and national level. The Czech Republic participates in international competitions through a national rescue team.
Marketing communication of The Czech Red Cross since 2007

Bachelor thesis Marketing communication of The Czech Red Cross since 2007 until now represents the humanitarian association of the Czech Red Cross, its history, mission, areas of activity, its tradition in the context of the International Red Cross and its position in the nonprofit sector. Above all, it deals with its marketing communication. Major marketing projects of this period are analyzed, interpreted and evaluated with the help of academic literature. The paper deals with the success of these campaigns and the importance of communication of the Czech Red Cross and also with its competitors in the nonprofit sector. Based on these findings, the overall communication strategy of the Czech Red Cross is assessed and a SWOT analysis is implemented as a method to maximize the use of external and internal factors of the organization. The conclusion offers a socio-ethical perspective on the function and status of the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic and elsewhere and tries to propose further opportunities for communication of the Czech Red Cross and its differentiation from other non-profit organizations in the country.
Volunteers Preparing for Emergencies in Regional Associations Czech Red Cross in South Bohemian Region

Volunteering in emergency situations requires comprehensive knowledge of the context of these situations: crisis management issues, including legislation, involving of NNO in the integrated rescue system and cooperation with a local government, the principle of access to those who are affected; including first aid, teamwork and self-care. The training of volunteers is very important for both, the quality of volunteer work and for volunteers themselves and humanitarian organizations pay special attention to it.The aim of this work is to summarize the findings from the literature, to prepare them for the use of volunteers and to map the training system of volunteers and members of the Czech Red Cross in general, and on the specific example of regional associations in the South Bohemian region. To achieve the objective, an analysis and summary of the domestic literature on training volunteers in emergencies was realised. Furthermore, the case study, using data from secondary sources, internal documents and from expert interviews was compiled. Attachments now contain information useful for training volunteers as a separated document. The conclusion of this work summarizes the findings and defines recommendations for a practical use. Elementary and middle school students and teacher's knowledge of first aid

The topic of this bachelor thesis is Knowledge of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in first aid provision. The theoretical part defines first aid and describes its types. Subsequent chapters focus on first aid legislation, organisation of the Emergency Medical Service, and available tools for first aid provision. Further follows description of selected basic conditions and associated first aid. Next two chapters deal with first aid education of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools. Last chapter describes the possibility of cooperation with The Czech Red Cross and the Emergency Medical Service, who provide first aid training for schools and public. The practical part consists of qualitative research. Semi-structured interviews with teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in The Vysočina Region were used. In the elementary school the interview was lead with students of the ninth grade and their teachers. In the secondary school the interview was lead with students of the third year and their students. The interviews contained 22 questions focused on the knowledge of first aid and on the issue of first aid education. The interviews are transcribed in the practical part and the answers are also processed in tables for clarity. The conducted research survey showed that knowledge of teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in first aid is not sufficient and therefore it would be appropriate to include first aid courses in curriculum of each grade/year and also to provide courses for teachers.

Czech Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine in the post-Maidan period

This bachelor thesis discusses Czech humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the protest movement in Independence Square in November 2013 up to the fall 2015. The aim of this thesis is to ascertain specifics of Czech humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine, its main influences and to determine to what extent it is possible to apply these characteristic to Czech humanitarian aid in broad sense. In the thesis are thus analysed the very definition of relief aid, its considerable aspects and current trends. These trends are in the same time linked to Czech humanitarian aid and their influence is examined. The thesis also explores and examines the crisis in Ukraine, since its' specific context influenced Czech humanitarian aid. Czech humanitarian aid is analysed by means of qualitative approach. The core of this approach is based on interviews with prominent people employed in the humanitarian sector and on analysis of humanitarian policy of the Czech state and of selected humanitarian non-governmental organizations: ADRA Czech Republic, the Czech Red Cross, People in need, Caritas Czech Republic, and Doctors without borders Czech Republic. Bachelor's Thesis is theoretically described. It pays particular attention to Czech (Czechoslovak) Red Cross from its formation to present. The Thesis aspiration is to map out the International and Czech Red Cross from both historical and present day point and to help it to raise public attention. The Thesis deals with following questions: How and why was the Red Cross found, by whom and for which reason? How the Czechoslovak Red Cross was found and which were its activities after World War I and during World War II? Which were its activities in the postwar socialistic period and in period after 1989? When the Czech Red Cross was found, which are its activities and who are its collective members? The Thesis uses qualitative research methods, namely historical method and method of structured interviews and their analysis by the means of grounded theory method. It handles contemporary and current literature, including journals, archival and other documents. It is supplemented by interviews with management of regional associations whose goal is to describe the activities of the six Regional Associations of Czech Red Cross in the Usti region.
